“It’s fine. Don’t worry about it-“ nearly falls onto and crushes the fridge in an attempt to open it. “I’ll just…lie down for a minute.” It’s not elegant but lying on the kitchen floor is his best option right now. Gesturing at the fridge vaguely, “drinks are in there. Help yourself.”

“Oh…” seems he did notice, although the situation isn’t fully registering when he’s got gallons of liquor surging through his system. Kind of stumbling away from her towards the fridge. “Sorry, sorry…must have leaned back on you or something.”

“I might have some vodka sodas around or something.” Arkady is nothing if not a man who doesn’t pay back his debts. Unlocking the apartment and stumbling in, kind of dragging her with him. He hasn’t noticed anything out of the ordinary so far…

Much better. Leaning into her slightly and looking around in a bag he grabbed from somewhere for the keys to his place. He definitely drank too much. “Oh…there they are. Thank god. Um…do you want to come in? Or something?” Looking up at her.

It’s the weekend and therefore, he refuses to put his uniform on or get off the couch.

Just around his shoulders or something. He might lean into her a bit.

Good. Maybe she can help him stay standing long enough to find his keys.

“Alright…I may have drank a little too much.” It’s taken him five attempts to get up a small flight of stairs and he’s still at the bottom.

“A habit, hm? As if I would ever. Go get a glass or something, I’m going to put this one to bed.” Alexei had settled almost immediately when Arkady returned, the little brat. Turning down the hall, Arkady went to their son’s room and went through the process of putting the toddler to bed.

“Oh hush, Alexei is perfect just the way he is.” Holding his son close as he watched Logan. Admittedly it’s a little sweet seeing that he’s not too upset by this. He’ll keep that to himself though. “The place down the road finally had absinthe back in stock so I thought I’d get a few bottles.”

“Ah. Nice to see you bonding.” He’s in a very good mood. Handing a bottle of absinthe to Logan as he walked over to inspect the giggling toddler suspended from the ceiling. “Hello, sweetheart. Mamushka’s home. Were you a good boy?” Putting down a bag of booze and taking the baby into his arms.

Already gone and out the door. Down the stairs, out of the apartment and off to the liquor store. Then off to the bar down the street. It’s an hour by the time Arkady gets home. He’s a little buzzed but he hasn’t had this opportunity to relax in months. God knows what the baby put Logan through.

He wants pop tarts.

“He’s also your son.” Arkady responded bluntly, “So I think it’s only fair that you be the one to manage him for twenty minutes while I unwind a little.” Already getting his keys and preparing to just dip to go get liquor.

“Because I don’t want to take him into the liquor store with me and I deserve a break.” The kid is swiping at Logan. He’s a handful.
