Hooray. One of our very few protected bike/walk spaces freed from the tyranny of the automobile!

We need a vehicle weight tax. If you can justify buying an $80k, 3,000 kg Wagoneer to haul one bag of groceries, taxpayers shouldn't be subsidizing your pavement wear and tear plus the added danger to our streets. If you can afford the payments, you can afford to stop asking society to subsidize it.

Or…ride a bicycle.

Walking round Douglas after the snow it is clearly apparent that roads are well gritted for car safety. Pavements? Nah. You’re walking? Good luck.

I understand the IOM Govt 🇮🇲 is a bit short of money. “One mile on a bike is a $.42 economic gain to society, one mile driving is a $.20 loss” We therefore expect to see all our elected representatives in favour of real investment in cycle infrastructure. grist.org/biking/one-m...
