Flying in all the way from Germany to take out the event, all while being a great human being and winning Cleanest Gamer, was Dominik de Cassan with Disciples of Tzeentch!

In second place, with Cities of Sigmar, was Alex Bruce!

In third place, with Cities of Sigmar, was Peter Twigg!

Aaron's favourite award, Da Valleyz Boss (best destruction outside of the podium), went to Mike Chadderton on Kruelboyz!

Mortarch of Wales (best death outside of the podium) went to Matthew Gouldesbrough with Ossiarch Bonereapers!

Daemon Prince of Wales (best chaos outside of the podium) went to Krzysztof Zylawy running Blades of Khorne!

On to gaming, Pendragon's Champion (best order outside of podium) went to Josh Cann on Cities of Sigmar!

Crimson Brush (TO-judged technical painting) Champion was Jon Cann (paint), with his strikingly beautiful Ogroid-themed Slaves to Darkness army!

Crimson Brush (TO-judged technical painting) runner-up was Mo Ashraf with his stunning Seraphon!

Crimson Brush (TO-judged technical painting) 3rd place was Neill Caughey with his very imaginative goblin-themed Slaves to Darkness army!

The player-voted "Well Tidy" Award (overall best army across all measures) went to Tony Kirby with his SEAHAUNT! 👻 You can tell that Tony has put so much time into these conversions and the display board - was a joy to see it on the table.

Cleanest Gamer(s) tied at 4/5 votes each for Glen Chalk and Dominik de Cassan! A fantastic achievement for both getting that many votes. Glen took home the custom WarVault, provided Pro Painted Studios. We'll be passing a trophy to Dominik as he was the highest placed player.

A favourite for those that have attended Blackout previously, and an award that resonates with us well in Wales, the Caledor Memorial Award (for best dragon) went to Tom Matthews with his gorgeous blood-soaked Vhordrai!

First on the roster, the Welsh Spoon award (with an engraved hand-carved Welsh love spoon as the prize) went to Liam Winch! 🥄

Just over an hour to register and submit your lists for the Welsh Open! At 78 players that are all done, so thanks to everyone for being organised. Make sure you get everything on time so we don't have to chase you! Battleplans will be revealed tomorrow evening, and lists released on Wednesday.

We currently have 58 players registered on BCP, so we're missing around 30! If you are not sure how to register, check your e-mails. List submission will be done via BCP, and closes at 23:59 BST on 4th August (Monday). A full list of players will be shared later today.

Quick update! The Welsh Open will be using the rules updates issued today by Games Workshop. New Khorne and KO battletomes will still not be in play. Not long to go now! Excited to see you all 😁

Morning everyone! We've been getting quite a few questions about the release of the new KO and Khorne battletomes, due to release the weekend before the event. To confirm, we are sticking with the current rules cut-off, and these new rules will NOT be legal for the Welsh Open 2025.

In 4 weeks' time we'll be coming to the end of the first day of the Welsh Open. Gamers from across the UK will be lamenting their misfortunes and laughing them away with friends. If you want to join a community of good-natured gaming, like those in the photos, there's still time to get your ticket!
