Currently processing a whole bunch of little pyrography scans, some of which are from...three years ago. Truly wouldn't wish creative/artistic burnout on an enemy, it's wild to try to untie this mentally.

I do seasonal work merchandising plants (yay!) for a big box store (boo!) and the weather being nice all last week brought all of the customers out of their shells and it's been very cute; a market farmer told me that he usually sells 400lbs of rutabaga in one go to local pasty shops!

Transcribing my 2024 garden notebook and: 1) I cannot spell "occurred" 2) This past year kicked me in the ass so hard, it feels like I'm only really coming out of the funk now. It's sobering and odd to read words that I'd written while in the middle of the mental thicket. Blech.

As far as plants go, this year I bought a bunch of different field peas (peas meant to mature and harvest dry) and scallop/pattypan squashes- mostly because, to be honest, they're so delightful to harvest when 'n if they make it through the season. Good colors and good shapes. c:

Found a great little Kellogg's advert booklet c. 1909 at an antique mall the other day. Haven't been able to figure the name of the illustrator, but these are so, so delightful. I've never run into such an old example of these 'flipbook' style illustrations!

Still alive, things're just A Lot, as the story often goes. My aunt passed away earlier this year (kind of a long, drawn-out, shitty ordeal), and about two months back I was diagnosed with a (thankfully minor) form of skin cancer and I've been recovering from a surgery related to that-

A random customer at the food co-op the other day responded to something I said with "gadzooks!" and I've been charmed to pieces since then. Keep being excellent, gadzook-friend.

Housesitting for some friends and their little Zuni fetishes proved to be great drawing practice while the puppies napped. The forms and movement in Zuni fetish sculptures always leave me in awe... drawings in the second pic are all of an absolutely incredible little cougar by artist Dan Quam.

Things have a habit of happening during seed starting time, it seems. Hopefully this (and 3 others) amuses anyone who can see into the back of my car on my impromptu road trip. 😅

Mostly wanted to bounce up and down about a delightful elderly website I stumbled across earlier: tileweb.ashmolean.org Tiles! I love specific sites like this one so very much.

Urppp I need to actually put this app on my phone- but for a quick update, MFF went smoothly and my whole house is back home! Later in December I'll be hitting the road again, but without the specter of a large convention looming over my head.

Made some silly things to stretch the brain muscles. Driving home tomorrow after two weeks away, and then on to MFF later in the month.
