Join the Town of Lexington for a Lex250 Signature Event on Wednesday, Oct. 15, starting at 5 p.m., for an evening of crafts, food, music, and community spirit in celebration of the Festival of Lights. Enjoy Diwali-themed treats and activities at your favorite local shops — from sweets at Liberty Sweets to an Indian movie at The Venue, Diwali reads at Maxima, and Indian-inspired ice cream at Rancatore's. Then gather at Emery Park for music and a Diwali Light Show and Illumination at the Historical Museum by LexLux around 7:30-8 p.m. Reserve your dinner spot at Clay Oven (1666 Mass Ave.) at clayovenlexington.com. On April 19, 1775, hours after British Regulars killed eight colonial militia on the Lexington Battle Green in what became known as the Battle of Lexington and sparked the American Revolution, Captain John Parker rallied his men to head to Concord and face the Regulars again. This became known as Parker's Revenge. But before heading to Concord, the militia heard from Rev. Jonas Clarke, Lexington's minister. These were Rev. Clarke's words, as delivered on Saturday, April 19, 2025, when the Lexington Minute Men reenacted the Battle of Lexington on its 250th anniversary.

From Saturday Night Live to Lexington's Patriots' Day Parade. Actress, comedian and writer Rachel Dratch, a Lexington native and SNL alum, is set to return to town this weekend for the 250th anniversary commemoration of the Battle of Lexington and the start of the American Revolution. Dratch will host the Patriots' Day Awards Ceremony on Thursday night and also march in the Patriots' Day Parade on Saturday. She recently caught up with Jeff Saperstone, an anchor for NBC Boston, Lex250's official media partner, to preview the week ahead. "I'll start practicing my parade wave," Dratch said. "It's an honor.
