Once the anti-cheat issue is solved for Linux, most likely by Valve, a lot more people will start trying Linux. While there are issue, straight up. They are becoming fewer and fewer. In a few years, there may be zero issues. CachyOS and Bazzite, etc. I feel will lead the way.

I hope, one day, that SteamOS will be able to work with games like Fortnite/Warzone/Battlefield. If Steam could work out something with them, for the Steam Machine and Deck, the impact would be massive. Yet, for a multitude of reasons, that seems like a longshot for now.

I've went back to play Dragon Quest 11. Never got far the first time but really enjoying it now. Playing a DQ game is always a pleasant experience. It's a simple JRPG tale but charming characters. Nothing crazy, not groundbreaking, but just feels right. Old school JRPG fun.

Regardless of who wins this GOTY thing, all that matters is if you had fun with a game(s) this year. At the end of the day, some arbitrary award means nothing. There's tons of GOTY stuff each year. Never means much. Play and enjoy what you want. It's really that simple.

The current most played and trending games, on Steam. Reminds me, I need to jump back into Enshrouded. It's such a solid game.

It's been weird switching to Linux for all of my personal stuff. It's not perfect but very reliable overall. Gaming is a lot better than I expected. The vast majority of what I play works just fine. I wouldn't say it's ready for "mainstream" folks but if willing to learn, go for it.

Oh man, I remember that promotional commercial. I was working at GameStop at the time and we had this playing constantly. The name "DarkMaster" will live in my head forever cause of it. 😂

The Steam Machine has one obstacle to the mainstream audience. Valve needs to find a way to get stuff like Fortnite, Battlefield, or COD to work on it. SteamOS, which is Linux, means games that uses kernal level anti-cheat won't work on it. If Valve can get around that...it's game over.

So, capable but not amazing. Which I think works for them. Like the Steamdeck. Most folks don't even play with super rigs on PC. So, if this can get all of Steam on a TV in a easy way, perfect. Especially for those that want to get into PC gaming but don't want to buy/build a rig.

I believe Tencent owns a majority of that off-shoot version of Ubisoft that has Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow 6. Leaving, whatever else for Ubisoft main. My guess is, Tencent was like F it, call our section Ubisoft and we'll own it. You can have your side section and call it whatever.

Though I still have long way to go, it's nice to finally notice progress in my weight loss journey. I've always been stocky. Even when I was teen into swimming meets. Yet, movement wise and other factors I notice now. Going slow on purpose, but goal is next Summer, be at goal.

One thing I don't see too many people talk about, in terms of this new Steam Machine, is if it gets a solid adoption rate - more games will be made to support Linux. Even if not natively, they will work to ensure games work on a Steamdeck/Machine via Proton. A win for Linux.

The Steam Machine is a smart move by Valve. Although, saying 4k 60fps with its specs, is a push. Great for those that want to play their Steam library on their TV, without connecting their main PC to it. Won't be as powerful as a solid build but will do the job. Plus, it's a Linux PC overall too.

Been about two weeks since I switched to Linux, for non-work related stuff. Learning the terminal was fun. So far, 99% of my games work without issue. Well, some I have to "Alt+Enter" to make full screen at times. Still lingering issues. Like wifi not always turning on reset. Yet, all fixable.
