Public service announcement for elected officials: If you manufacture a problem and then solve your manufactured problem, that doesn’t count as being “focused on solutions.” It just counts as politics as usual. Do politics as unusual.

If you support gerrymandering by EITHER party, then you need to be prepared to answer one question first: Why isn’t the power of my solutions enough to convince voters to vote for me? Why do I need to pick my own voters instead?

While Sen. Murkowski has stated she supports voter ID requirements, she showed what leadership looks like by putting voters first and asking questions about how policy impacts people. She wants to ensure that the implementation of voter ID is done the right way and doesn't disenfranchise people.

Gerrymandering is a process whereby politicians attempt to predetermine a certain political outcome. Does it concern you that that can be written without mentioning "voters" or "solutions" or even "represent"?

We feel like we've seen examples in history of individuals taking control of elections. We feel like we've seen that that doesn't go well for democracy. Elections should be secure. But also fair. 🗳️🗳️🗳️
