Static Shock isn't the best DC animated universe production, but it holds up well enough. It feels like a Saturday morning television show, as opposed to something intentionally epic like Batman the Animated Series, but it's creative and clever and exciting. (Unlike The Zeta Project.)

The problem is that every DC animated film and television show is fated to be inferior to the 90s DC animated universe. It's the perfect interpretation of the characters, with brilliantly told stories, solid to exceptional animation, and pitch-perfect voice acting. It simply can't be topped.

But yeah, I saw a clip of some DC production, not related to the 1990s DC animated universe. They had Static Shock in there, but instead of an inner city youth in a stable single parent home, he was an orphan, or a genetic experiment, or something. Weird swing.

It's kind of annoying that we have a reboot of Static Shock, because they only do reboots of old comic book characters, and I remember when Static Shock was brand new! Which means... Uh oh.
