I've run out of time for trying to get the Signal Sleuth sorted. The OTA 'update' turned out to be a downgrade. It removed the total display, which I heavily use for testing. Also the unit factory resets first powerup after every config, wiping out the @wiglenet API key. I've IDE downgraded for now.

Far out! The OTA update feature on the wardriver.uk is pretty cool, BUT, while the A.ino took about 3 minutes, the B.ino is going to take <checks calculator> EIGHT and a half HOURS! That #wardrive I had planned, yeah, happening today...not today.

#wardriving my standard loop to compare the panel antenna with the Yagi antenna. Both have around 20 dBi gain. Output into a 4-way splitter and then the top 4 channels (1,3,6,11) into the @lozaning #wifydra since the scan speed can handle the narrow beamwidth.

Because reasons, I've been doing more #wardriving of late than ACARS. Once winter hits, that will change, but I'm wondering if folks who follow me mind some Wifi RF stuff in their feed? It mostly centers around Android and @wiglenet tips. Perhaps also some antenna/splitter/preamp stuff as well.

The dumpster fire burns bright! While onboarding a new VDL feed from CYVR I found a bug that resulted in some VDL stations msgs not making it to the site search DB at all. Fixed. Off the top of my head, it was KSAN, KBGR and KEGE (at the very least). VDL East USA map is looking better now!

On the back of my last post 2 hour agao. I often see social media posts about "Wow, lots of military up today - should I be worried?". So here is the military aircraft our system is tracking now. 1426 aircraft on the map,1 of which is tagged as military. ie, normal vacation weekend aircraft numbers.

Great to see the map looking healthy today after yesterday's glitch. I think "best effort" is the nicest description I can use for running the site. Speaking of effort, I won't spoil the surprise, but on Wednesday, I have an 11-hour road trip with improved ADSC data from 98w as the end goal.

1582 aircraft on the map. It's really really burning me up that I am struggling to get my 'Americas' C-Band feed back up and running. We've been at the new house 7 weeks and its just been non-stop renovations and repairs. The place is in WAY worse shape than we suspected. Sorry guys. I really am.

Was on the roof of the house tracking down some of my leaks and saw the #DiscoveryDish and #Tempest weather station from a new angle. Thought I would share it. The DD is providing L-Band ACARS and STDC data from 98w #Inmarsat 4F3. The camera is a test for winter snowfall time-lapse.

Quick update on the @raspishake seismic vault. I had some issues with getting the CPU temp out of the Pi-powered #seismograph, but got it sorted. Tested for two days with the unit on the garage floor. It's now in its new Idaho vault. Hope that we can make it through the winter Ok.

Currently 12:50PDT, been working on the C-Band satellite dish tracking for about 45 minutes. Making good progress. Still need to set the alarm for 00:30PDT to retry the bottom of the orbit tracking since I failed last night. Moving 1300 miles north has changed quite a bit of the setup.

True to my last post word. I'm awake and up, looking for the C-Band signal so I can get the satellite dish tracking dialed. Not a sign. So that means I have the whole dish out of alignment. Tomorrow I will re-level it and check the top of the orbit alignment and set the alarm again for 24 hours.

Yeah, I know, only 8 aircraft on the map from my C-Band dish right now. I have more adjustments to make... Like the top of the sat 'orbit' is nowish, so that means I have to set an alarm for 1am to adjust the bottom before the tracking can take over. Also, a reminder about filtering by squawk codes.

I've my C-Band dish tracking controller powered up and connected to the az/el motors on the mount in the yard. You can see me 'sweep' the dish up/down and left/right (orange plots) as I peak up the signal. Not getting many decodes yet, so got more work to do, but it's good progress.

Well, making a mess of this! Going to step away and take a day off. Go for a drive and just breathe. Wife and I are going a little stir-crazy working on this place for a solid three weeks now. Looking forward to our first Idaho neighborhood fireworks tonight. Stay safe, everyone.
