Nashwa Mohammed, from Sudan, and Reem Elsayed, from Egypt, are two of this year’s IHTM students who feature in a recent article from the University of Oxford which profiles some of the 2024/25 Mastercard Foundation Scholars, under the Africa Oxford Initiative (AfOx).

Many congratulations to IHTM student, Reem Elsayed, who represented the Oxford University Africa Society at the Bridging Excellence: Oxbridge African Scholars Summit 2025. Reem presented her research on pandemic preparedness which explores EID surveillance-to-notification systems. Find out more

IHTM student, Fona Qorina, is part of a research team that has won the Sustainability for Health Professionals Education Award at the Asia Pacific Medical Education Conference (APMEC 2025). The research looked at Indonesian medical interns’ intention to practice in rural areas. More
