Recently the administration has attacked the slew of court stays against its unlawful behavior by showing the dramatic imbalance of such orders from this administration to past ones. It hopes that you see this as proof of unfair treatment rather than the reality that it behaves very unlawfully.

A DFL MN legislator tells a story of how her own family were once undocumented. Talks about how personal it feels to take health coverage from undocumented Minnesotans. The GOP response? Turn her past into click bait red meat for their supporters and demand to investigate her. We aren't the same.

On one hand, law enforcement in LA wants protesters to go home. On the other, I can't get video out of my head of a cop in riot gear shooting an unarmed woman just trying to go home who lived on the other side of his line and just needed to get past. Where was she to go?

The current president wants to honor the greatest traitor in the history of the US, a murderous man responsible for more US deaths than Adolf Hitler, Robert E Lee, with his name on a fort. There is no question that this president has no love for this country.

I will be backing away except for my Canada countdown photos for a bit. I want to part with this: Canada & the US are both full of millions of good people. Far more unites us than divides us. The Commander in Chief of the US Armed Forces, in an incoherent rambling Memorial Day message of anger and hate, never once thanked those who gave their lives for our country. At no point in his message was a hint of thankfulness for their ultimate sacrifice for us all. This is America in 2025.

Mike Johnson claims that those who don't work but theoretically could and are receiving Medicaid are "defrauding the system." That is a lie. Fraud is a real word with an actual legal definition. Throwing it about like that is knowingly committing slander. He must suffer at the ballot box.

I watched Mike Johnson tell an interviewer today that Republicans only intend to cut off health coverage for people who aren't working. I simply can't fathom how there are still millions of idiots in my country who believe health insurance should be contingent upon having a job. That's simply evil.

Things got a little weird around here for a while for very good reason five years ago. We need to keep working to assure what happened that evening on Chicago NEVER happens again.

5 years ago today felt like any other. It was as it always is, my spouse's birthday. It was also Memorial Day in the midst of pandemic. Nothing was particularly noteworthy. Not until local social media started slowly going crazy that night about something very wrong in South Minneapolis.

Fun sports day Minnesota! Twins take another walk-off win from Kansas City, Frost win in TRIPLE OVERTIME in game 3, and the Wolves step back into their series with a massive win! Tons of fun!

We all remember when the guy in office lied about FEMA's involvement in North Carolina hurricane relief. Now he refuses to reimburse money for debris removal and tells states they're on their own for disaster relief, talking regularly of killing off FEMA. www.politico.com/news/2025/05...
