Wind has been so loud the last 3 days, it’s been rough getting a good nights rest. So ready to give up and have caffeine IV dripped directly into my bloodstream.

It’s been a while since I’ve been able to spend time in nature on back to back weekends so I’m quite grateful that I did even if my body was quite sore both times afterwards.

It's been tough trying to be online the last 3 weeks. So many people have been snatched away and terrorized in the areas I commute. The thought that 28.7 billion has been allocated for this to continue is demoralizing. Got away from it all this weekend but I pray for those that can't do the same.

A beautifully restored, deluxe release of The Panther Women (1967). Everything from the artwork to the 80 page booklet is wonderful. I remember accidentally seeing parts of this film during my childhood on Mexican broadcast reruns and my parents always turning the TV off for fear it'd be too much.

Traveling without moving.

The lyrics "And I'm gone gone gone, now I'm older than movies, let me dance away, now I'm wiser than dreams" on David Bowie's Dead Man Walking hits so different 29 years later. It's fascinating how lyrics evolve as time passes and what was once only a brilliant lyric, you feel you now embody it.

I was gifted this set for Christmas by the kiddo and her mother but for busy reasons, I've not had a chance to listen. But life is a little more manageable this weekend. Or perhaps it's the universe's way of creating beautiful synchronicity. Either way your absence still weighs heavy, Mr. Bowie. 🤍

Had a hiccup last week on how a small section of a track translated from mix to master. It's amazing how just 30 seconds of a 40 minute album can sour the whole thing until the issue is taken care of. I did finally find a solution but it took 6 days to do so. Mixing music sucks all joy of life. 🤮

It is a very fine line between intolerable insecurity and narcissistic confidence. Don't ever let go of the people in your life that gracefully avoid either side of the spectrum.

Spent most of my Sunday afternoon rearranging several modular setups and forgot what great artwork this module has on the back of it. As if the front isn't already, IMHO, bananas cool.

'24-'25 was the busiest I've ever been musically. Right down to the final day. I spent all that time finishing composing, mixing as well as overseeing the mastering of 7 albums with the mastering approval of the last album on the last day of 2025. Now to plan album releases for the next 4 yrs. Me:

2025 was a very challenging year but what year is ever without challenges? This coming year I wish everyone the capacity to see past the hardships and find gratitude in the thought that we still get carry on with the ability to love ourselves and others in our hearts. Happy New Years, everyone. 💜

Thinking today about live performance setups and how a setup today would be so different than old ones (MiniAK, MicroKorg, Kaaosscilator, Laptop) if I were still performing and how despite the fact I no longer perform live, my relationship with instruments has nevertheless continued to evolve.

It's not hard to be grateful about every aspect of life when you've had 8 brushes with death. 8. And yet somehow, I still feel wildly unprepared for when that time comes. As in, I need more practice on my dignity and grace because that's what I'd like loved ones to remember me most by when I die.

As I continue to flesh out the modular synthesis sound I envision for future albums, modules have become redundant/irrelevant but rather than have them gather dust in the studio, I'll be selling them to help finance several projects in 2026. Active ingenuity is the reality and life of the creative.

Only 10 days until xmas eve and staying in theme by sharing three out of 30 variants I've collected (since 2009) of Vince Guaraldi Trio's A Charlie Brown Christmas. The first vinyl copy I owned on green vinyl, the 2lp deluxe edition, and a 2nd green copy signed by the original 1965 choir singers.

Another Vince Guaraldi PEANUTS soundtrack vinyl post in honor of Thanksgiving. A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving had its television premiere on CBS in November 20th, 1973. The special continued to air every year on CBS (except on 1982, 1983 1988) through 1989. 5 vinyl variant releases.

A cousin recently shared this magnificently preserved picture and I can’t stop looking at it. Maternal grandmother sits on the far right, she is the youngest, sharing space along great aunts and uncles. Picture was taken late 1910s.

Attended an ABBA/Queen candlelight concert this past weekend. It was held at a church which as a venue is always a bit problematic for me because of the religious aspect of it. However, the acoustics were undeniably superb as were the musicians performance.

Had the pleasure of visiting The United Theater on Broadway in Downtown LA for a screening of The Phantom Of The Opera starring Lon Cheney that included a live orchestral performance. It was spellbinding viewing this film in this Spanish Gothic style venue built in 1927. Happy Halloween everyone.

Inyo National Forest. En route to Mt Williamson (14,375ft). When I took this picture I’d already crossed multiple streams, bushwhacked through countless vegetation and dealt with plenty of challenging route finding and the toughest part had yet to come. But all in all, epic times were had.

Often torn between drowning in instruments in the studio and overdosing on vitamin D. The latter won yesterday.

It’s been a year since the arson fire in the foothills of the San Bernardino mountains raced up to higher elevations and claimed not only a disheartening amount of vegetation but also a beloved fire lookout station at the summit of Keller Peak (7,882ft). Only a section of the metal base remains.

Music composition/album creation has never been (and I don't think it will ever be) an easy task for me, but it sure is a worthy creative journey to embark on every single time. Have a good week ahead, everyone.
