It feels very millennial-coded to say "if we can sell (the house) before the housing market crashes, then rent for a few months and buy AFTER it crashes..."

Never before have I been so delighted to see a whole chapter of a book practically cut from a video adaptation as I was when they took a whole 20 seconds to fly to Antarctica as geese in The Magicians

I feel like we need a new second person pronoun in English to denote that the thing you're speaking to is a computer. Asking my home assistant "can you tell me $y" feels too *personal*

I’m not losing friends over politics. They are losing me. Also, the people who are losing me weren’t really friends, since they support a movement that believes some people should not exist because of their skin color, or orientation, or gender identity, and so on.

Bluesky has no agorithm for your personal feed so you create your own social media experience here. Go to your feeds, scroll down until you find the search field and look up feeds relevant to your interests. When you find a feed you like, pin it! (Also like it, feed creators will appreciate it)

FYI: Every time it becomes known that someone is a raw milk drinker in Oregon, it's because someone - usually a child - is now life-threateningly ill.

I'm noticing a handful of folks I follow that have "invalid handle" on their profile now. The DNS TXT record you configured needs to stay around for your custom domain handle to be valid. Just an FYI.

Hi everyone. The Onion, with the help of the Sandy Hook families, has purchased InfoWars. We are planning on making it a very funny, very stupid website. We have retained the services of some Onion and Clickhole Hall of Famers to pull this off. I can't wait to show you what we have cooked up.

The Onion Buys Alex Jones’s Infowars Out of Bankruptcy
The satirical news site planned to turn Infowars into a parody of itself, mocking “weird internet personalities” who peddle conspiracy theories and health supplements.

Proud momma moment today: no sound on the radio as we were about to leave Waffle House and I was finagling the settings in the radio trying to find a reboot option. Kiddo told me to turn the car off and back on to fix it. The 5 year old has been well trained.

Went to my Local Queer Coffee Shop today and started the section of "quietly drinking coffee and doing our own things" I'm crocheting and two other people are reading. Not a word has been said past a polite nod whenever a new person sat down. This is heaven.

"ladies and gentlemen" • boring • gender essentialist • we are in corporate hell in a sad hotel ballroom and life is meaningless "greetings, friends and foes" • exciting • inclusive • got the whole room guessing which group they fall into • can make a game out of it

So, I think this is the first time I've ever seen this setting in a game. As somebody who has Tinnitus, being able to turn off the high pitched ringing after in-game explosions may just be a life changer for me as that sounds won't leave my head for HOURS after. Hooray accessibility!
