Last weekend I went to #JapanFestivalBoston It was a great event. Their were lots of great artists and performances. I can't wait to go again next year!

Lately it seems like the warmer the day is the more rainy it is. The one except is the days I have off, which are always cold and rainy.

Time for some Tomodachi Life

Getting to the ending stages of editing my first novel now. I've been working on this thing for three years now and I'm still nervous about releasing it. You can expect the announcement + preview chapter in May/June and the full release in July/August. I hope you all enjoy it!

I realized that I never showed off this sketch cover that I recently commisioned from Gurihiru. The only prompt I gave was "Gwenpool without her mask" and they absolutely knocked it out of the park! This is going to be framed on my wall until the day I die!

This is very late, but I went to Anime Boston a couple of weeks ago and got to see a special screening of Akane-Banashi. I've been following the manga for about two years now and I've become a massive fan of it. The anime looks beautiful and I can't wait to see the rest of it!

I finally got around to reading Love Bullet by inee, and I was very impressed. Solid writing, great action, and an interesting premise. I went into it thinking it was a romance manga, but it's really an action manga with a romantic theme. I can't wait for volume two!

Have I ever said how much I love the fact that Pax has an entire room dedicated to Steel Batalion? Because my god I love it so much.

Somehow the arcade at Pax seemed to get even bigger compared to last year's!

Hell hath frozen over. I was able to get into a Nintendo booth with no line. Granted it was for Mario Wonder (a port of a Switch 1 game). Either way, the game was great and the new multi-player modes were really fun! Now I need to test my luck on the Pokémon Champions line!

Even as someone with no interest in the TMNT set, I can still appreciate how cool the mtg booth looks. This is the card shop and it is where all my money will be going.

The story time panel at Pax was fantastic. It's not only the best storytime talk I've ever seen but it was also one of the best panels I've ever been to. It had a very powerful message about creativity. I'm sure it will be uploaded to YouTube soon, so go and watch it.

I loved the magic booth this year. It looked great and I'm glad they brought back the Apples to Apples game that they did last year.

Apparently Wizards created a new con exclusive Secret Lair that premiered at Pax East. Its called So Salty and it is EVIL.

I've decided that I want to read more fantasy. I've always loved the genre in film and games, but its been awhile since I've read a great fantasy novel. If anyone has any recommendations let me know!

I went into Boston today and decided to stop at the Brattle Brook Shop. I found this copy of Breakdowns signed by Art Spiegelman. I'm a big fan of Maus so I'm excited to read it!

I decided to try out some of the recipes from Witch Hat Atelier and they came out better that I thought (1/4)

For those who missed it, this week's chapter of Akane-Banashi was incredible. I can't stop thinking about this one page in particular. You can almost hear the guitar chords as he turns his head. I always love when comics find interesting ways to show motion.

Well I'm officially sick of winter. If it's alright with everyone, I say we skip it and just head straight into spring. Sound good?

The Elusive Samurai ended its 5 year run today with chapter 238. I've been following it for about 2 years and it's been great to see Tokiyuki and the others grow. If you haven’t read it yet then it's definitely a series I'd recommend!

Every day I fight the urge to financially doom myself (aka start playing Warhammer 40k). The game and it's lore look amazing and I'm so tempted to start playing casually. But I've played enough MTG to know where that road ends (with a lot less money in my wallet).

The first volume of #IchiTheWitch is finally out! I ordered the Kinokuniya variant and the cover art looks spectacular! I've been following the Manga for over a year now (on the Shonen Jump app) and it's one of my favorite ongoing series.

I managed to find this at Barnes and Noble today for only $5. Its over 400 pages of Norse myths. The hard cover binding also looks really nice! I haven't read much about Norse mythology so hopefully this will be a good introduction!

I hope everyone's keeping safe from the storm today. This is what my front step looked like this morning. Shoveling my driveway was not fun. Driving to work was even less fun.

I want to talk about one of my favorite books I found at Mice. "It shouldn't be this hard to learn to crack eggs with one hand." By Cynta Camilia @j4lly.bsky.social. It's a comic about the author's emotional attachment to food and how they associate certain dishes with certain people and memories.

I recently looked back at a novel I had given up writing. It was call "The Watchers of Web" and was about teens trying to stop a monster from ending the world. I killed it because I had no idea where the story was going.

I'm still reading through all the comics I got at Mice. So far one of my favorites is Love, Remember by June Dao. It revolves around two siblings reuniting and trying to make up for lost time.

Just got back from Mice(Massachusetts independent Comic Expo) with an empty wallet and a bag full of comics. Can't wait to read all these! I'll be reporting back on my favorites soon!

I made a cake for my sister's birthday. I think it turned out really well!

I finally brought myself to watch the last episode of #citytheanimation last night. As expected, I was very happy about the episode and very sad that the series was over (I was also sad for the first half of the episode). It is a brilliant adaptation. Kyoto Animation did amazing work.

I've been rereading Maus by Art Spiegelman recently. The first time I read it, I was blown away, but now I'm even more amazed at the small details of the book.

I recently updated my desk setup using the desk mat and mouse pad I got from Japan. I think it might be the best-looking and most functional setup I've ever had. I just hope I can keep it this clean! If anyone else has a cool desk setup, post it in the comments below!

I recently reread all the work of Nagata Kabi to prepare for her upcoming book. For those of you who haven't read her work, it's half autobiographical and half a philosophical exploration into topics such as love and loneliness. She's one of my favorite mangaka, and I can't recommend her work enough
