Thrilled to be part of this programme with The Mary Lavin Centre for Creative Writing at UCD and iCRAG. Excited to work alongside scientists, mining their brains in the name of literature! I'm also #nervous, which is good. I write better when I'm nervous, the lens tightens. It's all a bit gorgeous.

2026 Reading 1: Big Kiss, Bye-Bye by Claire-Louise Bennett. My second Christmas book, and a wonderfully strange one to start the year with. The strangeness should come as no surprise, after C-L B's previous two books, but still, page by page, it evades certainty and asks question after question.

Well done Jake Caldwell, on making it to the summit of #Kilimanjaro! With almost no training and worrying bouts of sickness on the way up, there's nothing that ever stops this crazy guy's whims and dreams. Looking forward to that creamy pint in The Gravediggers soon!
