ICE not at River City Middle School yesterday
A post on a local RPS oriented Facebook group yesterday stated that "A RPS parent was taken by ICE when they dropped their kid off at school." We followed up with questions to a number of local government contacts have brought a little bit of clarity. One person has confirmed the essential story, without going into details. The key fact that we have been able to confirm is that nothing happened on RPD property.

Richmond Police have adopted a new non-lethal device âfor brief control of non-compliant individuals without use of forceâ
From the RPD: RPD Adopts Device for Brief Control of Non-Compliant Individuals Without Use of Force The Richmond Police Department has trained and equipped officers to use a new device that allows for brief control of non-compliant individuals. The BolaWrap 150 Remote Restraint Device (pictured) is a handheld tool designed to be used as a method to control from a distance a non-compliant individual in instances when the officer would be justified in handcuffing the subject but doing so could escalate into a struggle which could cause harm to the subject or the officer.

8pm Sunday. Tornado Watch until 1am includes RVA (enclosed area in red). No threat for a couple of hours, but storms approaching from the southwest later tonight have potential to be tornadic. If you get a warming to your phone, get to the lowest level of your home and stay away from windows.
