Still no sign of passage at Stanwick this morning but a badger trundling along the shoreline of the main lake was excellent. The mess left by Sundays visitors was staggering. The way people treat the countryside is depressing to say the least

A family of grey wags have been knocking around our garden all day today. Regular breeders along the valley these days, often in quite strange places

The whole black headed gull colony on the layby pit at at Stanwick seems to have deserted over the weekend. I wonder what caused that?

19 arctic terns in total thru' Stanwick today, also hobby and 3 com sands. Is there anything better than inland arctics powering through against a stormy sky in the spring?

Another 5 little gulls NE through Stanwick at midday and then 2 from our garden on the edge of Irthlingborough late afternoon. With birds all over the Midlands I wonder how many were moving today. Long may these Easterlies continue
