Replaced the L earbud and charged both to full. After 1 hour of listening, they are both roughly evenly discharged. Much better. But Sony really should have doing this fix for the #WF-1000XM4 earbuds and not left it to customers to fix themselves. A silent recall doesn't cut it either.

The ending to #Cyberpunk2077 haunts me to this day. Not because of what happened in the game's story. But the implications of what's going to happen in the future after the fact. Absolutely harrowing to think that might one day happen in real life.

14 minutes of use and it dropped 6% on the left battery. Yeah, that update really borked the batteries. Gonna replace the other one too. Sony really screwed their customers and never issued an official recall or statement on this. Avoid their earbud line. They don't stand by them.

So I swapped the battery out and updated to the newest 2.1.0 firmware that fixes the problem. Going to try these out and see if the battery drains on my right (and the left, which has the original battery) earbuds. Might need to replace the other battery (left earbud) too. We will see. (2/2)

Just personally replaced the battery in my Sony #WF-1000XM4 earbuds. The right earbud would only charge to about 70% and then drain with about 30m of use. This was likely due to firmware update (1.4.2) pushed by Sony that tried to charge 3.7v battery in the earbuds with firmware for 3.85v. (1/2)
