Holy Cow comes to the small screen Film4 12.40pm Monday. Wonderful story in a tough farming community about a boy's attempt to make comté cheese against all odds. I loved it at the cinema.

I love it when the ancient beeches wake up, and that they wake at different times.

The swallows are back, which is an exciting turn of the seasons marker. But I really love the very first beech leaves which herald nature's cathedral roof.
