This speaks to my condition. I’ve never gotten much from donating money - I want to be involved.

At Meeting this morning, I felt called to share the important role of continuing revelation in my own life & to encourage Friends to always follow Leadings from the Inward Light. Now I’m reading the Pendle Hill Pamphlet “Speaking as one Friend to another” and this passage really felt relevant.

I hate the politics of my country. A fascist party v. a conservative capitalist party.

I’d much rather my tax money go to addicts than our warmonger government.

I’m working on the second of ten Pendle Hill pamphlets that I recently bought. After I finish these, I think I need an extended break from Quaker literature - maybe Christian literature in general. Thinking of buying some books on ancient Celtic history and mythology - Brythonic in particular.

It’s our duty to protect those in need and to refuse to comply with our racist government.

The United States is murdering people at sea. The Trump admin. has killed at least 57 people in attacks on boats in the Caribbean and the Pacific. Now they are pushing the U.S. toward war with Venezuela. Congress must stop the killing and hold the administration accountable.

I have loved Sr. Joan Chittister for years. In 2022, I contacted her to ask if she’d sign a book. It arrived back three years ago today. Every now and then I open the book just to read her message and each time I’m nearly brought to tears. ❤️

I considered bringing my “Love Thy Neighbor” sign to the Duluth No Kings protest, but I was really feeling in a more “fuck fascism” mood than a “love people” mood.

I love the life, teachings, and example of Christ, but I am not sure if I can call myself a Christian in the traditional sense any longer. I have grown tired of attempting to cultivate a relationship with a supposedly personal God who doesn’t seem very personal.

As someone who came to Quakerism from Catholicism, I often find myself missing the Eucharist, the artwork, the “smells and bells”… I’ll sometimes return to confession and Mass just to receive the Eucharist. Part of me accepts purely spiritual sacraments while another part wants something tangible.

We had a relatively spur-of-the-moment Called Meeting at the Meetinghouse today and, throughout it all, I couldn’t stop thinking of how grateful I was for everyone there - how much I loved them all. I truly would not be the same without the DSFM.
