First harvest! This is the nicest pai tsai/bok choy I’ve ever grown! The trick was to forget you planted any, so you are left with tons of spares so that when our “spring” weather keeps being drunk making cool season crops a crapshoot, eventually the remaining spares are full grown. #gardensky

I went on the actual internet for about 4 minutes, which is never a good idea, but in that time, I learned that people are afraid of unmanicured forests because of ticks. most disease-carrying ticks are from the mice that live all over your yard and inside your house. now go outside.

Sleepy silene, a native wildflower that seems to be relatively unknown. When it gets past its vegetative state, it starts growing long sticky stems, which protects it from pests. It’s also a night bloomer, which took me 2 years to realize. 🙃 #nativeplants ⬇️

new jersey tea sprouts. these are a tricky one as they want everything to burn down first before they’ll germinate. put seeds in mason jar, fill with boiling water, let them soak a couple of days, cold stratify for 3 months then plant on top of soil and keep moist for 2 months #nativeplants
