I'm so tired of Cons. The hypocrisy, the entitlement, the nastiness. PP had a 25 pt lead 3 months ago, lost the election & his seat. But somehow this is now as a success bc they picked up a few extra seats in close races. Imagine the outrage if Trudeau had lost his seat? But for PP, he's entitled

And then PPs speech. Full of stupid slogans, no sincerity, so forced. He thinks he is loved. He plans to stay on and he might not even have his own seat. His party stopped running ads with him in it bc he is so unpopular and disliked.

I'll miss Jagmeet Singh. He is everything you really want a politician to be. Classy, humble and truly cares about what he says. What a speech. Understand why he has to step down, but he will be missed.

Is it just me or did Poilievre go to a Philippine church for the photo opp & then continue his day as planned? Both Carney & Singh had a hard time speaking of the tragedy & curtailed their activities for the day, Carney going as far as saying it wasnt a day for politics But PP, business as usual

The more I hear from Carney, the more comfortable I am with him as PM. I was worried that he is a little more right of centre, but on social issues he is bang on - improve health care, increase funding & access to abortion, invest in Canada. He also brings a sense of cooperation, not attacks

Poilievre bothers me a lot. But yesterday, he said he didn't get a security clearance bc it would gag him but then also said he had one from 10 years ago when he was minister. Both of these statements can not be true. He doesn't have one, and lied. The man is devoid of both policy and character.

Tariffs are bad Believing that poorer countries like Vietnam, Cambodia, Ecuador, Morroco, Botswana, Myanmar, Pakistan have somehow "ripped off" the US is beyond laughable. These places provided cheap labour for products Americans want. Unbelievable to hear richest country in world playing victim.

So, last night, Trump threatened Europe to not coordinate with Canada to fight tariffs. His goal is to destroy Canada. Yet somehow, Danielle Smith is still going to FL to hold a fundrasing talk with Shapiro - who also believes the same as trump. Why do people in AB still support her? Indefensibly

The swearing in of Canadian PMs and cabinet is so civilised. Short, not extravagant, to the point. In many ways a true reflection of the difference btwn Canadians and Americans. Power of PM has been transfered from Trudeau to Carney in 5 days. Didn't require millions of dollars. Carney is now PM

Is the world finally going to wake up and realize that trump is an ally of Putin. He is not an ally of Canada, Europe, Ukraine He is president to stay out of jail and to enrich himself and his friends. That the millions that voted for him thought he was anything other than a conman is sad.

Trump is an embarrassment. He blamed Ukraine for being invaded, mused about Ukraine paying back US aid, suggested Zelenskyy is not a legit leader & Ukraine needs an election, and wanted Ukraine to sign over mineral rights to US. He is aligning with Putin and thinks he can bring peace. Unbelievable

So trump promised a 30 day reprieve from tariffs but announced some 7 days later. He says Canada isnt doing enough, despite agreeing last week. He is still talking about taking over Canada. He'll keep moving the goalposts Fascists cannot be appeased. They always want more. They can only be defeated

Can we stop using the term anti-DEI. The only alternative to being inclusive is being a male dominated white society. Anti-dei = white male supremacy. Let's change the language and call it out for the ugliness that it is.

Apparently some in US are outraged that the US anthem is being booed in Canada Shouldn't be surprising when trump has imposed tariffs on everything, saying he wants cripple Canada and make it the 51st state. He is claiming Canada is a threat, all while Canada had been helping fight wildfires in US

So it appears all provinces are pulling American liquor off their shelves. This is a big deal. Canadians spend billions a year on liquor and they will find substitutes to the US brands, and likely never go back to those brands again.

Where has angry, patriotic Trudeau been the last few years? Great press conference, actually taking questions from the press, respectively. A great speech of unity. Not sure US is really ready for this. Throw in Mexico and Canada working together, and it could become rough for US.

Everytime the US has a disaster, Canada has been there to help- from California wildfires to Katrina to helping divert planes on 911. We didn't ask for anything in return, because thats what neighbours do. But the US thanks us with massive tariffs. Who needs enemies if you have "friends" like this?

So trump thinks he can not only put tariffs on Canadian (and Mexican and Chinese) products but also put into place a law that prohibits other countries from retaliating. Who does he think he is? And for the record, Canada has a FTA with the US and has not done anything to warrant tariffs.

It really is time for Canadians to stop admiring the US as some beacon of success. We've built our own strong history and need to embrace that We need to stop buying US products, stop going there to shop, stop going there on vacations. Its time to support Canada and diversify our economy.

US is no longer an ally of the western world. It's openly supporting nazis in its govt, is about to ignore trade agreements, no longer promotes equally amongst all, just superiority of white men. It's merging church & state. It's becoming fascist. It has gone rogue and we need to impose sanctions.

It's a sad day in Canadian politics when Doug Ford's response to proposed Trump tariffs is more reasoned, more rational and less partisan than the LOO Pierre Poilievre. Could PP be anymore of a despicable, partisan, alt-right, divisive hack?

Why is there so much concern about BlueSky being a left wing echo chamber yet no such concern about X being a right wing one But worse, there is little discussion about why people are leaving X. It's not simply a dislike of Musk, it's that Musk enabled racists & misogynists to post with impunity.

I feel like democracy is at a crossroads. Voters have become either apathetic or easily mislead by misinformation. But many have become entitled and don't think democracy needs attention The majority is not always right. Does trump have to break it before people wake up, or can democracy survive?

So during the recent by-elections, the media and Cons, called the results catastrophic for Trudeau. So why is it not catastrophic for PP that the Cons in BC did not win and the Cons in NB got clobbered? And Cons think media is biased in favour of Libs!
