Whelp … after thousands of layoffs, it’s great see Target didn’t get the fucking message. I invite new CEO, Michael Fiddelke, to also open stores in Canada without adequate supply distribution centers, again. I’m sure the problem last time was just lack of customer eye contact.

The sales table merch is equally as incredible as everything on the walls. So much of this art is small, so prices are affordable to most attendees. And Norseman Distillery has been doing wonderful things along with us - including giving the artists in the show a drink discount.

Tarot card: The Star. OAC will probably make the Tarot Art Show an annual event, and so I need another idea to illustrate… (BlueSky will no doubt hide this behind an adult content tag, yet: 1. I consider this functional nudity, not sexual, 2. Star is immortal - this isn’t su!c!de, its renewal.)

My partner and I volunteered for costumed figure sketch sessions offered at ALTR Gallery through artist Christine Mitzuk (christinemitzuk.com). Not used to being on the opposite side of the drawing table, hence the mask. Posing is like yoga extreme. I have increased my respect for models. Yikes.

Things change; a fourth color for the sake of contrast had to be added. Screen printing light colors is so frustrating.

Final design. Little tricky, because I’ll be skipping the cost of having films professionally printed to recover from an expensive month (lotta shit I need decided to break last week). It affects how I designed this piece, and the color layers I’m using. Wish me luck…

The kind of shit I’m all about: when it takes resourcefulness just to live like capitalism expects, and the result is accidental art that’s critical of modern society. Keep creating. Even if your sculptures are just made of the gum peeled off the underside of a bridge. Keep creating.

When you find an artist name remembered from long ago — that has achieved financial success as an artist — but they did so by making tons of illustrations you would never want to make, no matter the money (AND! that artist, despite decades of chances to grow, is still an asshole). Life is strange.

Remembering cartoon + live action movie ‘Cool World’, and how parents tripped right into showing it to kids because… cartoon = safe. It was a dumb slip of assumptions. This was when users could be trolled onto the nastiest internet porn sites… You can’t Nerf the world. Stop fuckin’ trying.

Great turnout for an art show dealing with abuse and trauma. It wasn’t easy to do, create, or curate. But friends, family, and art help us face the worst life can give.

The Universal Cat Distribution System struck again. Gonna try to drop her into the city’s adoption/foster network, first. They’re all closed on weekends. But if that’s not a viable option…

Okay, NOW, I’m back on the work I’m supposed to be working on… But not until after I hacked this IKEA bullshit, so I can have a portable light to draw with — next time the kids (with their young eyes, and self-lit drawing tablets) invite me to a dark bar to draw.

Bad news is, the fascists are finally making their move to grab all the power, and toss out all law. The good news is, they’re incompetent, and they moved both too late (everything is tanking now), and too soon (there’s not enough of them to maintain control). So just say it: I AM ANTI FASCISM.

I’ve managed to get four foster cats to their forever-homes, and I only regret letting go of one. Time to sign up to break my own heart a fifth time…

I’m proud OAC / ALTR took a standhere. Not the show — it was going to happen no matter what. It’s because an abuser did take issue, tried to intimidate the staff, and they stared him right down and tossed him out. Two members in particular, showed NO fear, and left that man utterly powerless.

No art, again. I was away from my art desk, my home, much of society … pretty much everything. Thanks again to @lizardwizardkylie.bsky.social for showing me how the green witches live.
