Don't get me wrong, my OCs have always been important characters to me, but informed consent can only be given by a living, capable adult, which sets a legal precedent for making my OCs uhhhhhhhhhhh living, capable adults i guess.

The only actual people who can consent in these situations are the people making the art and the people viewing it. A ban does nothing to protect those people. Content warnings and tagging do. Allow the real people making and viewing art to decide for themselves what they can handle.
