Small sieves, and a huge pile of soil. @ralfsteffens.bsky.social, Jens Hammes, and I combined two horizons of a German podsoil and homogenized them, and then we had to sieve out the rocks and plants/roots. It took our team a full day to sieve this pile of soil.

In the early years at Paessler, around the turn of the millenium, there was no separation of roles. I “was” the company and I was the only employee, and whatever needed doing next was what I worked on.
