Any recommendations on good journals to submit a meta-analysis on maths interest and achievement? Facing some difficulty finding a good fit!

In case you needed the reminder that I did today: there is nothing wrong, or silly, or trite with wanting the world (or your little part of it) to be fairer or kinder. No matter what the system may tell us, it’s never too much to expect to be treated well.

On my way to give a talk at the lovely Centre for Mathematical Cognition in Loughborough, only for delays to cause my 20 minute connection to become missing the train by 2 mins and having to wait an hour for the next one 😡

Feeling like a crappy lecturer because my rental fell through a week before moving day and the subsequent stress means it’s 9.45pm and my slides still aren’t prepped for tomorrow. Giving myself grace to shake up the schedule and teach something I actually have slides for but ugh, teaching is hard.

Given the precarity of UK academia right now, I'm starting to wonder what other paths my career might take if it comes to it. Anyone got any insights on what I could do in the UK with a PhD in #DevelopmentalPsychology? I love research and teaching, but I know there are other ways to do it, right?

My family’s new obsession is a hedgehog called Harry that lives in my parents’ back garden 🦔Harry updates on WhatsApp make our days. Dad feeds him and gets so worried when he hasn’t been seen in a while. Dog is terrified of him. He reappeared last night to much Conlon joy!

Irish visa policies are ridiculous - for my non-EU partner to visit for a weekend from the UK we need to take a million pages of paperwork to an office 1.5 hours away and then wait 5+ weeks for an answer 🙄 but if he uses annual leave for that, he doesn’t have enough for the trip!

Signed up for a new joint account at my partner’s bank. He was able to give his title as Dr no problem previously, but I wasn’t asked, was automatically put in as ‘miss’, and would need to bring my PhD diploma into the bank to get it changed 😠
