I finished this race 3 hours slower than my first 100K last year but I believe that this was absolutely a better performance and that I finished this race stronger than the last! The climbs were brutal and as an east-coaster this was a unique challenge but I did it!

The back half: PAIN. Had multiple independent sources tell me that the climbs up Mt. Townsend and Mt. Zion were known to be the steepest, most painful climbs in the region. Sadly when I got to the top of Townsend it was cloudy and the views were obscructed; apparently on a clear day it's penominal!

#UltraSky Race report: Olympic Mountains 100K The tale of two halves: the first 50K of the race was very runnable, flowed great, mostly an out-and-back and a lollipop. Lush, mossy, fern-dense PNW forest along mount streams, with a brief peek onto the 3-o'clock ridge overlooking Buckhorn Wilderness

The full run is something like 20+ km long and took the entire morning! Amazing experience, would recommend to anyone coming to ski in the Alps!

It starts with taking a cable car up over 9,000' and then having to traverse the mountain ridge to the start of the run! With cool rock and ice caves at the top station!
