As I'm creating my multi-modal map, I noticed this bizarre bus route. Say hi to route 558, one of Melbourne's baffling weirdest bus routed. On weekday AM it runs anticlockwise, clockwise in PM. Saturday AM it does clockwise. Saturday PM/Sunday no service. Sometimes extended. 😂

If Melbourne Metro Tunnel only operated off-peaks political suicide. This is the worst case scenerio considered from an inside source not named. Let's be real it won't be fully ready by 2025, but it should be ready enough to operate it at a minimum to the existing timetable.

This was painful, but here's the Hoddle grid if every bus route and tram line was separated out, with the major train lines shown only. Swanston st may be the busiest tram corridor, but Lonsdale street is another beast, that's why it's been taking me longer to finish this project

Quick update on the Vtuber stuff, there was some delays regarding that, it's in the rigging process atm, I'll tease the model and dates soon.

Job searching for an anxious and nervous person like me is difficult, like to get successful in jobs, you have to be confident in yourself and be productive and useful. And when you're feeling downgraded and anxious, it tends to be hard to be yourself and you make mistakes.

Idk I feel like stuck in a time loop or something, I have been having some weird dreams as of lately. I might be feeling a bit off lately. I keep making promises to you and myself of getting things done and not accomplishing that. I've been constantly been on edge mentally so please ignore my rants.

I'm thinking of putting more personal posts on bluesky only and keep the same transport news on both sites. The last few months has been very tough on me mentally, but I'm trying to improve myself through the Christmas break. I'm planning to make youtube content again.

Can the Metro tunnel in Melbourne run x'trapolis trains? Yes, this video proves it. For real though it can't, but that's a great thing, the project has evolved that it will have its own rolling stock and signalling, separating the lines just as PTV proposed back in 2012.

I really hope they make the plastic covers the black colour for the new myki readers, that yellow/green colour looks unappealing to me on the ones installed recently in rural Victoria. The one on the right is a picture of the prototype model on the G class tram, they don't look too different tbh.

I noticed as part of Akuna drive extension, they'll have to knock down relatively new industrial buildings, that's great planning right? It could have been avoided if they left the road to connect that way like it should have been on the old melway maps. 🤷‍♂️ The level crossing removal is nice though.

I just edited the East West Link billboard Tony Abbot put up years ago, they're total hypocrites, when it's their own pet project, please don't cancel it 😰 creates traffic. Whenever it's not their pet project, scrap it, we want nothing to do with it. Playing politics as usual.

The Metro tunnel concepts at what is now Town Hall station from 2012. Obviously from the former metro tunnel project. Obviously the City Square entrance hasn't changed much, but there has been changes with the connections to Flinders street when they redid the plans in 2015.

I wonder whether Australia or Canada gets the high speed railway done first. My bet is that Canada might get it done earlier, I wonder whether Canadians and Australians agree with this. In Australia it's mostly cynicism rather than enthusiasm, due to ongoing promises for many yrs.

If only Brumby's Munnel actually happened instead, sadly a lot of the eastern part was cut back due to reviews during the 2010-2014 era, when cost cutting had to be done to get the thing done in one phase instead of two. At least the project is almost finished now.
