RIP Peter Haggett I vividly remember the first geography book I purchased as a first-year undergraduate in 1998. It made me realise how much more geography really is beyond what I had learnt at school.

Natural Earth is an amazing effort and valuable dataset. But I absolutely disagree with their 2022 decision to have Crimea connected to Russia as a default in their countries baselayer. Many users will adopt this in their maps without even noticing. Should this not at least be a separate polygon?
