Corporations invaded the net, took it over and turned it into an accelerationist nightmare. But they are ignoring the real world in the process. They believe they are leaving it behind for something abstract and better. Let them take the net as long as we can take back the real world.

Amazon is helping fund a $300 million build of a ballroom for the White House. Independent bookstores are donating to food banks and organizations that help with food insecurity. They are not the same.

Props to the three young lads having a beer outside a pub on Tottenham Court Road who enthusiastically beckoned over a bloke draped in a St George flag only to tell him “Fuck off out of our town you fat fascist fuck.” Swelled with London pride.

The other night I had a dream about kicking around an off season British holiday camp with David Lynch. The next morning I walked down a local side street to avoid the crowds and saw this on a fire exit. A pleasing synchronicity.

I personally think the only way to cope with the massively accelerating wrongness of the world is a sound understanding of fairie lore (specifically circa 1400-1700). This will help:

Rewatched 'Prometheus' (2012) and was struck that the android David's use of Peter O'Toole's interpetation of T.E Lawrence as the basis of its 'personality' is very much like todays LLM's stealing their identity from already existing creative works. Wearing it like a mask.

Today's second hand book shop find. I say 'find', but it often feels like the book you really want to read right now makes its way to you. Even though, before now, you didn't know it existed.

Found a wonderful bright eyed toad in the middle of the car park in hot sun. Didnt look like it really wanted to be there. Picked it up and put it under a hedge in the damp grass. A nice meeting, hope they felt the same way.. and I didn't interrupt some important toad quest.
