On this day in 2022, Twin Atlantic released their sixth studio album Transparency. It reached number 27 in the UK album charts but number 1 in in Scotland! It was the first album to not feature drummer Craig Kneale.

On this day in 2017, #youmeatsix released their fifth studio album, Night People. Quite simply a stunning album that I love to bits, quite a change from their earlier pop punk sound but wonderful, especially love Heavy Soul & Give. Reached number 3 in the UK album charts!

On this day in 2017, @riskeeridicule.bsky.social released their second studio album, Blame Culture. First discovered the band supporting King Blues on tour and loved them. This was fan funded on Kickstarter! Check out Drown & Molotov Cocktails and you'll love them!

On this day in 1997, #3ColoursRed released the single Nuclear Holiday. This was the first I heard of the band and loved it so much. Its bloody superb! It reached number 22 in the UK singles chart!

On this day in 1997, @lightningseeds.bsky.social released the single Sugar Coated Iceberg. The third single from Dizzy Heights, it reached number 12 in the UK singles charts. I remember buying it from Woolworths!

On this day in 2010, Dear and Departed released the Chapters EP. I remember first hearing this after seeing them supporting AFI on tour and loving it! Been a fan ever since but sadly they split up in 2012! Highly recommended listening for fans of AFI!

On this day in 2024 @shedsevenofficial.bsky.social released their sixth studio album, A Matter of Time. Recorded in Spain, it was their first new album since Instant Pleasures in 2017 and their well deserved first number 1 album, which was followed by their second, Liquid Gold later that year!

On this day in 1998, Faith No More reissued the single Ashes To Ashes. Taken from their sixth studio album, Album of the Year, it reached number 29 in the UK singles chart this time around, in May it reached number 15.

On this day in 1998, #Rialto the single Untouchable in the UK. Taken from their self titled debut album, it reached number 20 and was the bands highest charting single.

On this day in 1998, Bernard Butler released the single Stay. Taken from his debut solo studio album, People Move On, it reached number 12 in the UK singles charts! What a song!

On this day in 1994, @lagwagon released their second studio album, Trashed on #fat_wreck Like their debut album, Duh, it was produced by the band and Fat Mike from NOFX Fantastic album! Released the same day as the likes of Smash, Dookie & Stranger Than Fiction. What a year!

On this day in 2005, The Pink Spiders released their debut album, Hot Pink. First discovered them after hearing Teenage Graffiti and after struggling to get hold of Hot Pink, finally did in a record store on Ocean Drive in Miami in 2007. Highly recommended listening!

On this day in 1995 @lightningseeds.bsky.social released the single Change. The second single taken from Jollification, it charted number 23 in the UK but eventually reached number 13! Top tune!

Really think 2026 should see Stone Gods reform. They were great but so annoying the album isn’t on streaming services. Who would you like to see reform this year?

On this day in 2021 Ben Kweller released his sixth studio album, Circuit Boredom, on #TheNoiseCompany Released online and on a limited edition vinyl run, it includes the superb songs Starz and Heart Attack Kid.

And the next 911 is now completed and living in its case.

On this day in 1991, Live released their debut studio album, Mental Jewelry. They had previously released The Death of a Dictionary under the name Public Affection but this was their first release under the band name 'Live'.

So there you have it. My top 20 albums of 2025. I've had them all on in the last few days and love them even more! What a year its been for music! Let me know what you think, what would you change?

Now there were also two EP's which were really big for me in 2025 too! @president_band with Kings Of Terrors - This would have been in my top 3 if it was an album, i've really loved it! @THEHUNNABAND - Blue Transitions - A return to their sound from 100/Dare and its perfect!

Now at number 1 of my top 20 albums of 2025 is... @TURNSTILEHC with Never Enough. A band i'd not really heard of much until this year. I heard this album and MY GOODNESS. It changed so much. I still get that warm feeling when I listen to it now as I did the first time.

At number 2 in my top 20 albums of 2025 now and @DeafHavana with We're Never Getting Out. Now after first listen I didn't massively take, but its really hit home now. Another reinvention from the band but again, it works. Really love Break and Hurts To Be Lonely.

Now at number 3 of my top 20 albums of 2025 is @TheWildhearts with Satanic Rites of The Wildhearts. The band keeps changing but everytime, they bounce back with another hit! This is great from @GingerWildheart with anthem after anthem! Kunce!

At number 4 now of my top 20 albums of 2025 and @Yellowcard with Better Days. This is such a great listen, you can really hear the influence from Travis Barker in it, really love Love Letters which features Matt Skiba too!

Now at number 5 is @AshOfficial with AD ASTRA. This was always going to be on, I saw them support @TheDarkness but sadly missed their own tour which was gutting. Jump In The Line and Which One Do You Want are my top tunes!

A massive return now for number 6 of my top 20 albums of 2025 and @TheLemonheads with Love Chant. Hard to believe its been so long since they released any new material, but this is total Lemonheads. Deep End is my fave!

At number 7 now and @TheDarkness with Dreams On Toast. I had the pleasure of seeing them tour this album and it was a superb event. So many fun songs, The Longest Kiss and Walking Through Fire.

At number 8 now and @Sleep_Token with Even In Arcadia. Now its different from their other albums, reminds me at times of Radiohead too, but its still a very good album. Caramel is still an utterly insane work of art.

Another massive returning band now at number 9 of my top albums of 2025 and @Welovepulp with More. Its like they've never been away, love Spike Island, Tina & Got To Have Love.

Now at number 10 is #PressClub and To All The Ones That I Love. Just simply an amazing album. Really love Tightrope but the whole album is well worth a listen. They deserve to be massive.

At number 11 now and @MotionCityMusic with their album The Same Old Wasted Wonderful World. Ten whole years since they released Panic Stations and it was back with the same old brilliance!

Now at number 12 of my top 20 albums of the year Critical Thinking by @Manics Really enjoyed this one, a total change again from the band with a more post punk sound but so good. Really love People Ruin Paintings

At number 13 now and @bitemebambiska with Eat This. Totally brilliant, reminds me of Save Ferris, wonderful vocals and ska punk tunes with a bit of a reggae sound thrown in for good measure. Check out Bad Boyfriend!

At number 14 and @BenKweller with another great album, Cover The Mirrors. The passion and heart that has gone into the songs really tells the story of Ben's recent years with heartbreak. I'm sure the songs have really helped him and his family!

At number 15 now of my top 20 albums of 2025 and @Badflower with No Place Like Home. One of those bands I heard one song from Ok, I'm Sick and loved them, this album follows with all sorts of crazyness and so much fun! Really love London!

At number 17 is Sanguivore II - Mistress of Death and @Creepercultuk The second part of their Sanguivore adventure, this is great fun, especially love Blood Magick (It's a Ritual) !

Now its number 17 of my top albums of 2025 and @wkndfriends with Feels Like Hell. Another absolute banging album! I really wish they would come for a UK tour and come up north!

Now at number 18 is a band that made a welcome return with their first new album since 2018, @TempletonPek and the album Savage. A band that have been around for years, their last album Watching The World Come Undone is superb and this is a great follow up, even if it was quite a wait!

At number 19 of my top 20 albums of 2025 is @ShandonOfficial with Social Suicide. A Ska/Punk band from Italy, this is a great album that I've really enjoyed, its got so many great tunes but quite explicit language!

Starting at number 20, a new discovery and one I loved straight away, Yellow Paint by @MattstaGraham I stumbled across the track Caffeine and had to listen to more... and did... and loved it! Great to hear pop punk is alive... and yellow!

I'm not going to lie.... this has been a struggle but I think I've got my albums of 2025 now sorted The top 20 are coming .... now!.

Happy Birthday to There's a Star, the single from Ash released on this day in 2001. The fifth single from the album Free All Angels, it reached number 13 in the UK singles chart.

So.... I think I've finished my top 20 albums of 2025. All will be revealed starting from 10am tomorrow!

So i'm really trying my best to put together my top 10 albums of the year. But, i'm failing. Looks like it'll end up being my top 20!

Well #runningpunks that’s my second run after surgery and went faster and increased the distance to a 5k. Hard work but happy with it, powered by the superb new #Yellowcard album!

On this day in 1996, #Kenickie released the 2 CD set for the single In Your Car. It reached number 24 in the UK singles chart and paved the way to the band performing on TOTP! Wish i'd been able to see them play live. Why not do it in 2026 ?

On this day in 1996, Terrorvision released the single Easy. The fourth and final single from their third studio album, Regular Urban Survivors, it reached number 12 in the UK single chart and was released as a 2 CD set with a limited edition 10" version!
