Today’s Quaker Hot Take: Gerrymandering is a form of political dishonesty and violence. If your ideas cannot survive a fair map, perhaps the problem is not the electorate.

Simplicity is not the rejection of beauty. It is the refusal to be ruled by noise. A tree does not strive to bloom. The sea does not hurry itself toward the shore. The small bird does not ask permission to sing.

Living in tune with God’s righteousness will often set you out of step with mankind’s expectations. People measure success by noise, by image, by who agrees with them. God measures differently—by truth, by integrity, by the unseen posture of your heart. And those two paths don’t always overlap.
