Excellent points. Replacing a gas boiler is easy, it's a straight swap out. Heat pumps can be noisy. I do wonder what a quiet lane or street might sound like if every home has a heat pump and they were all running. I suspect there would be an unusual, and irritating, sound hanging in the air.
