I've been trying to split different work activities across different days and so far it worked great. I have writing days, working days, engineering days. Knowing that I'm focusing only on a single thing for the whole day is powerful.

100+ pages into the second draft of my sci-fi novel, I began procrastinating a bit by drafting the second book in a different series. It spans 50 pages now. I'm following (mostly) the only storyline I know so far but it already has a ton of epic and gore and words worth sharing.

The foundation of first book's layout is done. I like the sizes and I like the spacing. Once the illustrations are complete, it will all gracefully move along to the next publishing step.

Outlining religions has to be one of my favorite aspects of world-building. Religion is a reflection of culture, beliefs, and answers to the unknown. I have gods who walk between the trees, those who dwell in mirrors and under the sea, and some who choose to stay away from the affairs of mortals.

Session by session, my work on the manuscript is coming to an end. Not the first story I've written but the first one I am to finish.

Addressing the comments from my editor, and this one made my chuckle 😅 This isn't a horror story, I swear.

Having an exceptionally vivid imagination, I draw a lot from cinematography when writing stories. I engineer the scene, place the characters, put the "camera" where it needs to be, guide it movements through the key points of the shot. I try to do scene transitions in a more visual way, too.

There are two rewarding things in editing. One is to recognize problems with your manuscript. The other is to know how to fix them.

I will write about every step of the publishing process once I'm done. There is so many details one has to figure out, it's every indie author's duty to share their experience. No one has to thread this path in the dark.

One of my stories is nearing the end of the editorial cycle. I'm slowly diving into the publication process meanwhile. Hoping to bring it to your shelves and screens next year.

I've received my first publication rejection! Without a tinge of sarcasm, this is a reason to celebrate. I am one rejection closer to getting published.

Last month, I've submitted my short story to a magazine. The chances are slim, but one does not cease to hope.

That feeling when a dialogue so good comes to your mind you cannot sleep anymore. You have to write those words down.

Just finished the first draft of my short story! 🎉 Will have some rest from it and then refine it by the end of the year.

Opened today with a writing session for the last chapter of the short story. I love what it has grown to be. It's warm and just right. The way a story about any fight should be.

Good writing session this morning. Finished a chapter. The next one is the last in this short story. It's developing not quite how I expected it to, but I admit I like this new air.

Lately I think more and more about why I write. I firmly believe stories deserve to be told, and that is motivation sufficient enough to put them on paper. But I ponder on the higher purpose of it all. Kindle thought, provoke argument, explore what troubles me.

I keep an extensive collection of writer's notes. They contain all from world-building, character details, plot lines, geography, religion, and just noteworthy trivia about the world. The sheer act of writing all of that down carves it into my memory.

Most of the effort is hidden from you so all you could focus is the end value. Here, for instance, is what makes up my logo.
