2/2 Congrats to our 2 x U18 teams as well showing their dedication despite a very busy time of year for them. Special thank you to Harriet B for swimming ‘up’ to enable them to compete.

1/2 A fantastic win for our U15 girls’ swimming team in the medley relay at the Bromsgrove gala this week. They qualified in 2nd place for the final and then swam 4 outstanding splits to win! Their time would have qualified them for last year’s ESSA National finals.

Congrats to our 6th form netballers who participated in their South Warks tournament yesterday afternoon. A team were runners up and B team came 4th (just missed out on 3rd by one goal). All were a credit to the school.

Looking forward to the U12 and U13 Warwick 50s gala with our students. Go Alcester!

On Saturday 25 intrepid runners competed in the WSAA XC County Champs at Princethorpe Team results: Inter boys 1st, Junior Girls 2nd and Minor girls came 3rd. Stand-out individual performances from George (6) Joel (4) Thomas (3) Amelie H (5) Isabella M (8) Floren S (9) Holly H (5) in their races

No water, no worries. The Year 10 boys made waves at KIRC—outpulling powerhouse rowing schools with 1st and 3rd in the 5-minute event, 2nd, 4th and 5th over 500m, and an incredible relay finish for 2nd, just 5 metres short. Big performances.

Two great netball games tonight for our Y9 and Y11 teams v stratford. Both teams looked sharp and capitalised on lots of possession. POM for Y11 was Mia and Floren for Y9 👏🏻

Year 7 netball vs Alcester Academy. Fantastic play from both team, great development throughout the match.

Running Club yesterday went hard on the fancy dress running through Alcester all the way to the Fire station. Looks like everybody had a brilliant time.

A cancelled fixture gave us the opportunity to host a small Christmas netball tournament this evening. So lovely to see the mix of year groups getting to know and supporting each other. Purple team (non bibs) claimed overall victory! Well done everyone 👏🏻

A brilliantly competitive Year 8 internal netball match this evening. Some great interceptions and passages of play. Pink won with some brilliant shooting from POM Freya. Blue POM was Connie. Well done to all players.

AGS Girls Y8 and Y9s played football against Stratford High last night, superb play all round and a win for both teams 🏆 They decided to have some fun for the photos!

Shipston hosted our Y11 mixed hockey squad on their shiny new Astro - AGS got the win but more importantly great fun for all 🏑

Y8 Basketball team played away at St Benedict's yesterday - from the smiles you can see that they thoroughly enjoyed the experience. They are now through the the next round of the South Warwickshire Cup - well done team!

Y9 Boys Football tournament at SuAS Played 7 Won 4 Drew 3 Finished second 🥈

A number of AGS students participated for Warwickshire in the Inter County Schools Cross Country on Saturday 22nd. Congratulations to Amelie H and George S (Y9) Holly H and Immy W (Y10) for their selection and to Joel L (below) who was part of the winning Inter Boys Team!

More Sixth Form Games yesterday and the hockey girls played in the sunshine and slight drizzle to a narrow 2-1 defeat to Kingsley. Some fantastic teamwork and many smiles on display for the afternoon.

A fantastic night of boys hockey in a 5-way tournament with Shipston and Stratford where we fielded two teams. AGS A won the tournament with AGS B coming second - a great result for the boys and a great evening of hockey 🏑

Congratulations to our Senior Boys and Inter Girls for completing round 2 of the ESSA Cross Country at a very wet, windy and muddy Bromsgrove on Monday. Our Inter Girls have progressed to the next round which is a massive result - well done!

Y7 (pink bibs) and Y8 (blue bibs) netball teams hosted their counterparts from Stratford upon Avon School. The girls showed great resilience in the face of strong competition - well done!

Congratulations to our U15 Football team who braved rainy conditions to come 2nd equal in the SW Football tournament. Great all round play communication and teamwork with some impressive goalkeeping from first-timer goalkeeper Ellie W!

Well done to our Y9 netball team who came 5th at their county tournament last night. The standard was incredibly high and the girls matched most teams goal for goal. Special thanks to Lucy J and Annie G in Y8 for playing up 👏🏻

Our Y7 boys rugby team showed great grit and determination in their first Y7 match of the season against Stratford High School. Despite losing the boys displayed great teamwork and excellent resilience from beginning to end. Well done #AGSPE

Yesterday, our U18 Rugby team played their first game of the season- coming away with a 57-7 win against Kings Worcester. The team played with flair and tenacity against a school with strong rugby pedigree. Well done, everyone!

Congratulations to our amazing Y8s and Y10s who won the S Warwickshire rowing Championships with an amazing set of individual and team rows beating out 5 other schools! Y8 first with 3883 m 🥇 Y10 first with 4698 m 🥇
