The last of our school tree signs are going up this week! We put one on each school tree we plant to let teachers and students know its name and how high it could grow. We also leave each school with a selection of tree-related books for their library.

It was a beautiful, sunny day for our final school tree planting of the year. Five new trees for King Edward School on Selkirk Avenue. Thanks to the North End Community Renewal Corporation's NERI Small Grant Fund for its assistance to allow us to plant this many trees!

Saturday's tree planting at Isaac Brock School had to be postponed, but some of us got together to mulch the learning garden that students planted earlier in the week. The tree planting will take place on Saturday, Oct. 18th at 10 am, rain or shine!

Thanks to everyone who bought a tree at our Fall ReLeaf sale. We were so busy, we forgot to take pictures! The total number of ReLeaf trees distributed in 2025 was 803. Since the program's inception in 2016, the number is 8,693. ReLeaf will be back in Spring 2026!

We're pleased to repeat our Tree Walk of the West Broadway neighbourhood on Thu, Sep 11 at 6:30 pm in partnership with Lights Unlimited & West Broadway Community Organisation. This free 1.5 hour walk starts outside the Broadway Neighbourhood Centre and ends at Great West Life.

We took an arborist to visit ten of our school sites. Many of the trees that were struggling earlier this summer are much better thanks to doubling up our waterings and a week of cooler temps with a bit of rain. We removed two damaged by vandalism but none due to the drought!

Thanks to the kids at the early years program at Dufferin School this summer! We visited to give the trees an extra watering and they were so curious about trees and eager to pour out the water. We got them some supplies so that they can water whenever they'd like!

Our spring 2025 programming is done! We engaged 757 people and planted/distributed 741 trees at 15 events. Thanks to all of the volunteers, ReLeaf customers and donors who made this possible. We're taking a few days off to recharge our batteries and will be back with summer programming!

Today in Michaelle Jean Park we planted a tree with the Council of Women of Winnipeg to celebrate their 130th anniversary!

We will be at Friends of Fisher Park's Tree Day today from 3pm to 7 pm. 3 pm, Green Drop demonstration of an elm tree being inoculated against Dutch Elm Disease. 4 pm, Trees Wpg history and tree identification walk of the park. 6 pm, Community tree planting and tree raffle.

We would like to thank Careica Health (careicahealth.com) and their Careica Gives program for their generous donation to Trees Winnipeg. This money will be used to plant even more trees over the next year!

We were at Robertson School today planting trees with their students. It was a hot day, the ground was hard as a rock, and they worked hard to improve their school ground for generations of students to come!

🌳We planted some trees today in the park behind Orioles Community Centre on Burnell Street with the West End Resource Centre and Manitoba Eco-Network. It's always great to get together with other non-profits to enjoy the sunshine and make the city a greener and healthier place!
