Long time no see! Wrote about my favorite matches of July, featuring TJPW, Stardom, ROH, AEW and CMLL.

My biggest issue with conversation about tonight's TNA show is the hand-waving away of legitimate criticism with "well it's making money!" Numbers are fun to look at, but drawing power is not a defense of subjective quality. 2 years in a row where a babyface challenger should've won and they waited.

As AEW continues to exist I hope we get rid of this “wrestlers NEED a WrestleMania moment” narrative. AEW has done a good job, especially in 2025, of creating unique experiences for their wrestlers. It’s not just All In, either. You can work Arena Mexico, the Tokyo Dome, etc

Wrote this article a 4 months back and Lee Moriarty's creativity, especially with the ropes, was on full display again tonight. With Blue Panther's rope breaks exhausted, Moriarty used the ropes to make his match-ending submission more effective.

A no doubt about it, potential match of the year classic from Bandido and Takeshita. Both of these guys are next level and both are barely into their 30s. Wrestling fans are so lucky to be able to watch these two. #ROHSupercard

That Swerve/Hangman sit down segment was one of the best things #AEW has ever done. Two men who have gone through hell together, deciding to talk things out and move forward rather than letting the resentment continue. It's not often you see wrestlers attempt legitimate growth like that.

Hangman Adam Page is totally winning the #AEW World Championship at All In on Saturday...or maybe he isn't?

If you don't normally watch #AEW Collision, I'd recommend tuning in tonight to check out FTR vs. Outrunners. Not sure how it'll play on TV but in the arena it was one of my favorite tag matches of the year so far.

Last night's #AEW Dynamite was one of the best TV episodes this year. Preceded by the CMLL vs. AEW show the night before, it hasn't just been a fantastic week of in-ring action. It's a celebration of collaboration and the coming together of different cultures.

CMLL vs. AEW and ROH was one of the best shows I've seen all year, with a main event that will make MOTY lists in Bandido vs. Mascara Dorada. A fantastic celebration of wrestling and the spirit of interpromotional competition and collaboration. #CMLL

Really enjoyed #ActionDEAN from top to bottom. A celebration of professional wrestling and of Dean himself. That Cibernetico was a joy to watch.

Double or Nothing felt like a company defining PPV for AEW. In a world where their competition is hoovering up promotions, encroaching on the indies and tying themselves closely to TNA, the show was a statement: we're a different type of pro wrestling and we are the only show where you can get this.

As someone who thought Ospreay was the obvious choice for All In...Hangman proved me wrong. The level of emotion both guys showed in the match, followed by the post match call back to All Out 24, was incredible. The character Hangman has built over the last 6 years is an achievement #AEW

With the news of NXT Europe allegedly starting soon, I guess this article is going to continue to stay relevant. Whether you like their style or not, It's a shame to see so much of wrestling fall under the WWE umbrella these days.

Ended my brief hiatus from writing to talk about WWE & TKO's aggressive strategy to increase their market share in recent months leading to the acquisition of AAA. This strategy, if followed to WWE's desired conclusion, could further homogenize the style of pro wrestling. #WWE

It's a bummer to see Tetsuya Naito leave #NJPW, but I get it. In 2025, Naito has worked 39 matches, second behind Tanahashi. In 2024, he worked 134 matches, second behind BUSHI. The guy has been putting his body on the line and they couldn't come to an agreement on # of dates and pay, I'm assuming.

My gut tells me that the best thing to do is a multi-match series, culminating with a big match at All In where Athena finally overcomes Mercedes to win her first AEW title in her home state. Waiting to do the match at All In, and having Athena win the first one there, would be less meaningful.

Something that Homicide doesn't get nearly enough credit for, and that I honestly had no idea about until GCW ran that 25th anniversary show for him in 2019: A LOT of his students were kids he trained for free or cheap as a way of keeping them off the streets.

Tonight's #AEW Dynamite was my favorite episode of the show in some time, with great in-ring work throughout and meaningful storyline progression. My review:

Tonight's AEW Dynamite was dense and full of a ton of storyline development. The in-ring content wasn't as much of a focus, but it did feature a great debut performance from Speedball Mike Bailey in their match against The Beast Mortos. My review:

Attended AEW Revolution on Sunday. Will likely post a full review on the site at some point this week, but that was easily one of the best wrestling shows I’ve ever been to despite the bad main event. Will never forget seeing that Toni/Mariah match live.

A fun go-home show has #AEW in a great position heading into Revolution on Sunday. My review:

#Stardom under Taro Okada has been about taking big swings. The company might be taking their biggest yet in the lead up to next month’s big All Star Grand Queendom event and I’m very invested.

AEW has done such a great job this year at making Collision feel just as important as Dynamite. Fun card. (Side note: this is the first televised match between FTR & KOR/Strong somehow. They had two house show matches in NXT)

If I had to pick a wrestler of the year so far, it would be Konosuke Takeshita. Wrestled Orange Cassidy on #AEW on Wednesday, then flew over to Mexico to have another fantastic showing with Angel de Oro at #CMLL tonight. Did I mention he's wrestling Kenny Omega in a little over a week?

This week's #AEW Dynamite, which I was lucky enough to see in person, continued a strong run of shows. Review is up now. Read down to the bottom for a few words about what it was like to see #CMLL legend Blue Panther for the first time in his ROH debut.

Attended #AEW last night. Was an awesome show. What I’ll never forget is seeing Blue Panther wrestle live on #ROH. He had such an unreal connection with the crowd and spent a ton of time before and after the match walking around, shaking hands and taking pics with fans. A true legend

24 hours later and I might still be thinking about that Megan Bayne vs. Kris Statlander match. As short as it was, it was a fantastic proof of concept for those two wrestling like 15 times. Immediate in-ring chemistry #AEW

After a few missteps early in the year, Dynamite continued its stellar build towards Revolution on Wednesday night. @hangmanpage.bsky.social and MJF featured in one of my all time favorite #AEW in-ring promo segments.

#AEW has really turned it up the last 3 weeks or so after a bit of a below-average start to the year. I feel invested in the show at a level I haven't in quite some time. Time allocated to the best storylines, hot crowds, great matches. A promising sign for the rest of 2025
