Brace yourselves, Michigan: higher health care costs are on the horizon. ACA tax credits that have helped nearly half a million people afford life-saving coverage are set to expire because Republicans in DC failed to act. No one should be priced out of care.

Dems believe in taking care of our neighbors. MI House Republicans don't. Their actions speak loud & clear: it sure isn't neighborly to rip away money from local nonprofits that help vulnerable Michiganders — families, seniors, kids.

Yesterday, I Introduced Bipartisan Legislation to Reform the State Work Project Denial Loophole.

As 1.5 million Michiganders are struggling to put food on the table, while my Republican colleagues are prioritizing a tax break for folks who can afford gym & country club memberships. I introduced a bill substitute to extend the same tax deduction for groceries and prescription drugs.

House Dems Reps. Edwards and @skeetownsnyder.bsky.social made motions to immediately bring bills up for vote that would restore the funds House Republicans yanked back from Michiganders. It comes as no shocker that they refused. Their cruelty continues.
