pinned post!
Elder Millennial took up quilting in 2023 after attending the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show. Love the fabrics, the colors, the geometry. Love looking at a quilt to try to deconstruct how it was put together. Continuing to improve and try new techniques. Hope to design one some day

Made this
#WindsorTote
from a Lori Holt jelly roll. Pattern from Moda for Natl Jelly Roll day. Interesting technique where weave the strips together and then quilt it, so no actual piecing. Can’t wait to take it to the class I am attending at Sisters Outdoor Quilt show

Wildflower Quilt is completed! Part of Toad Circle’s Mystery Quilt Sew Along. I went “two tone” using some yardage I already had. The pattern allows for scrappy as well.

Made for 11 yr old daughter, this quilt is Freya. Pattern: “A Piece of Quiet Quilts”. Fabrics: a mix of Kona and Michael Miller. Used Fireside in black on the black for a softer feel. This is one of my favorites as the shapes make some interesting “curves” due to the blocks being on point

Some flying geese for the Toad Circle Mystery Sew-A-Long. We are given hints and an abstraction of how the fabrics will interact. I’ve gone “two tone” with one being this leftover beautiful folk & lore by Fancy That Designs and Kona Snow. Always fun to try to guess what the final pattern will be

Definitely the most intermediate quilt I’ve done. I know there’s some oopsies but strove for finished versus perfect. i love it so much

Joplin quilt pattern. It’s been on my todo list for awhile but needed to find the right colorway. Used quiltink and came up with this. All Kona solids. The blue seems slightly brighter in the pic than in person.

Just finished piecing “Dashing”. Pattern by Lella Boutique. Used mostly their fabric line called Christmas Eve. Love the little Fa La Las and the florals which only ended up in the corners. Getting the same for the backing.

Happy Camper from Modern Moon. First time using Quiltink to choose my own colors. Like a coloring book and it’ll tell you the fabric company and color name. Fun on point pattern. Completed Feb 2024

Lemon Blossom, pattern by KindredQuilt. My first quilt in the MQSAL with Toad Circle, and they come with curves. As I do, went a bit literal and got fruity neons, with a fun slate background. Then vintage, Parisian style lemonade print for the back and binding, then finished with a citrus panto.

Winter Magic, completed Feb 2024. Used Basic Grey’s Jolly Good line. Pattern by A Bright Corner. The pantograph is a fun snowflake all over. Thanks to Trace Creek Quilting for the all over quilting. Love the blues throughout the line for Christmas fabric, worked perfectly for the large snowflake.

I’m missing something obvious in bsky ui. I replied to someone’s post. They responded with three replies. I can’t seem to see the whole thread if I go to the post. Only in my notifications.

Embroidery Flowers, pattern by Tilda using her Solids. Like a count by number. Exercise in organizing as the quilting itself is simple grid and chain piecing. Completed in Feb 2024

Cascade Bloom, pattern by Toad and Sew. Chose my own fabrics using Quiltink. Used a big floral for the background, as I tend to get literal with the names. Curves are hard and this is not perfect. Yet, I’m so proud of this 1. Gave to good friend who has proudly supported me on this crafty journey.

My very first

: Square Dance. The sweetest fabric collection, with florals and geometrics. Had fun choosing pairings and the layout. Took awhile before I bound it as I was a bit embarrassed at the time (as I had made many more since). However I love it now and think it’s adorable.

I won a Quilty contest!!! Art Gallery Fabrics put on a contest where we had to make this quilt pattern using their fabrics. Being October, gave it some fall/halloween vibes. I pieced and quilted myself as it’s only about 40x40. Straight line quilting I can do :) Used some leftovers for the backing.
