Why do authors abandon manuscripts? Often it's because the story's just not landing and the author is too close to see what the issue is and how it can be fixed. So they give up and put it to one side, when potentially they are sitting on the book that could be their breakthrough.

This is great news – a publisher whose business model is to champion the midlist! It's very savvy to recognise that there are a lot of experienced authors with healthy backlists that readers enjoyed who deserve a second chance.

Heartbroken to hear Catherine O'Hara has died. From Beetlejuice and Home Alone to Schitt's Creek, she was the best movie mom there ever was, and an epic scene stealer. What a loss.
