I may be bias but feel the problem also lies with the first of those two letter Ms. Why be 'massive' at all? Many players will get significantly more out of being part of a smaller, more personal experience. Meaningful stories told within a curated setting. Be the next thing, not the next BIG thing.

I've known Matheus for a number of years, so this one feels particularly special. What stands out about this most for me is that outside of commissions to work on existing systems like D&D, Matheus has the most sublime imagination that really shines through here. It's an inspiring effort.

Every time I ask a search engine a question nowadays I get an AI answer, presented as objectively true. Formerly one had to pop down to the local pub for this level of being wrong with utter convicion, so it saves me a walk and a few quid, if nothing else. Pretty sure Internet used to be better.

Neverwinter Nights multiplayer server Arelith has been chugging along happily for 22 years - and just topped its record player concurrency @arelith.bsky.social

Well, that's a record; in all of our 22 years - 380 concurrent players online. We don't use shards or instancing, so these characters were all sharing one single setting. It goes a long way to creating an immersive #DnD #RPG environment. I am told the dwarves were having a coronation tonight.
