Seeing people post images of stuff I made still feels great. The line 'Neverwinter Nights is fun despite the ancient graphics' never sits so well with because I genuinely think it looks fantastic, and I continue to prefer the style over many modern titles. Glad I'm not the only one.

Dreamt that I'd made a high concept but hopelessly flawed flash player game based upon a cult psychedelic political novel, full of hand drawn animations, broken puzzles, pretentious text and celebrity cameos, then watched people attempt to play it, aghast. I really wish that I had now.

One thing I've been working on lately is converting some the our setting to a free 5th edition sourcebook. I'm only around a third of the way in, but I really like how it is turning out. A lot of our players run their TTRPG games in our setting, and I've a feeling this is going to come in handy.

To echo so many others posting about the passing of artist John Blanche. Arelith is full of nods to Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, because both I and my predecessor are massive fans. Just 6 months ago I ran a WFRP table at BIRCON, and for me his art style was always a core part of its appeal.

Having recently returned from the gloriously futuristic and still pristine City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia, I'm reminded of what an absolute shit show London's $1.3 Billion Millennium Dome was.

NwN 1 embraced multiplayer #DnD homebrew content over subscription based content. Nobody gets charged, everyone can create. As it approaches its 25th Anniversary this game has more online players than both D&D Online and Neverwinter, despite almost zero official promotion. Invisible. Indomitable.

I may be bias but feel the problem also lies with the first of those two letter Ms. Why be 'massive' at all? Many players will get significantly more out of being part of a smaller, more personal experience. Meaningful stories told within a curated setting. Be the next thing, not the next BIG thing.

I've known Matheus for a number of years, so this one feels particularly special. What stands out about this most for me is that outside of commissions to work on existing systems like D&D, Matheus has the most sublime imagination that really shines through here. It's an inspiring effort.
