I added another aurora capture to the 2025 list last night! It wont make top 5 for 2025, but it is always nice to see.

This was my first aurora capture of 2025, early morning on Jan 1. I'm wondering how many auroras I have left this year. Tonight's a possibility to add another.

a white rainbow (fogbow?) appeared over town today i’ve never seen one before and it tripped me out because it was a mostly cloudless sky with no rain, yet this shimmery white arch appeared out of no where and stretched across town

Aurora is already overhead at Poker Flat. Not bad for around 6pm.

I forgot to share Derby’s snow report. Derby accumulated 3” but some of the initial snow melted, maybe 1/3”. it’s looking like winter now with the trees coated nicely!

Watching this is good for your eyeballs. It keeps them healthy and happy. Send more auroras please!

Happy Friday! It was a good week for the aurora, bright enough to make shadows!

Here's the aurora at regular speed last night in Anchorage, AK. This is my favorite type of aurora, fast moving with pink/white tones at the bottom of green curtains. 😍

Here's 1 of 2500+ photos I took last night. My camera is looking south south east. The aurora way brighter and faster last night compared to what I saw the previous night. This is just a teaser, as I have a lot of aurora content that is crunching on my computer now.

While I was playing around videoing airplanes flying under the aurora last night, I had my other camera taking stills. Here's 1661 stills connected covering 55 actual minutes. The bright, fast moving streaks are the airplanes. I sped this up faster than normal because we all have swiping to do.

For the garbage can fans. Near the end of this timelapse, the aurora got super bright overhead, lighting up the ground and Derby.

I just saw the aurora to the north-northeast in Anchorage. It's not fully dark yet. It's pretty lit in Yellowknife currently. Let's see if we get another pre-10pm burst.
