Every time I have a conversation with a non-Internet person about ChatGPT, they are outsourcing their thinking in significant ways to the app.

In 2026, my thinking is: Perceived "goodness" of an image = Aesthetics (0-100)* Demonstrated Scarcity (0-1). AI image: Aesthetics of 80, but Demonstrated Scarcity of .01. Goodness = .8. My terrible drawings: Aesthetics of 14. But a scarcity value of 1. Goodness = 14. 14 beats .8!
