Currently despairing over my Trails Beyond the Horizon fancy edition preorder that I made almost a year ago: (Not gonna blame NISA since they shipped my copy on the 13th. So I'm truly just cursed.)

I think it’s finally time to make myself a thread for the 2026 video games that I’ve finished. The goal for this year is to simply, uh… finish more games than I did last year? Which I very much believe that I can do that and then some.

Suruga-ya had a pretty big New Years sale (free shipping + bulk sale) so I got some goofy stuff that just arrived: Like the Final Fantasy Tactics Zodiac Clock that is now my most prized possession (even if it might be useless as an actual clock?) Also got some Star Ocean 2 + Shadow Hearts 2 stuff.

Messed around with the Trails beyond the Horizon demo. Obviously won’t talk about story stuff, but I liked it? Which is refreshing after uh…. Daybreak II as a whole. But, I will admit, vtubers now being part of Trails lore was not on my bingo card.

I hate to break it to you, Ion. But vinyls are doing ok.

Yeah, I'm something of a "Multiple Endings" gamer. (I'm a little surprised by this graph, but it's probably skewed because of like 100hrs of Hundred Line, which I still haven't finish, and Nightreign.)

I, ironically, was secretly planning to finally pick up and play BG3 now that I feel that like zeitgeist on the game has finally started to calm down. But looks like I will save some money on the Steam winter sale in a couple days with Larian's philosophy on Gen AI.

I think I’m still burned out from Divinity OS2 (4-player) so the idea of more Divinity is unappealing. I've had people try to convince me that Baldur’s Gate 3 is “totally different from DOS2!” & it continues to ring hollow for me when the press is already “NEW DIVINITY WILL BE BIGGER THAN BG3!”

My opinion on the VGA’s is that I was literally sleeping through the entirety of it because I was big eepy. But cool to see a new Mega Man and Ace Combat announced (… even if I’m a fake Ace Combat fan and only listen to their soundtracks. I do want to check out 3's Electrosphere sometime tho.)

I’m generally proud of myself for trying to move away from the modern Sony ecosystem… but also, wow did I not play much on my PS5 this year. But also, PRETTY SURE it’s missing at least Daybreak 2 for some reason? (Since it has like 2hrs of Granblue VS and not my likely 80+hr Daybreak II stuff)

I won my 1st Champion's Meet in Umamusume?! (Virgo Cup) ...And probably last one. But still in shock because I definitely robbed people who had not only better built Umas(/cards) but also won previous CMs.

Fun Fact: One of the secret reasons I got a new PC was to play Monochrome Mobius (since it was PC exclusive for a brief bit.) And… it was fine, I guess? The writing quality was nowhere near the mainline games. I'll probably still play this 'cause I'm an Uta sicko, but they'd have to improve a lot.

I get irrationally annoyed when I think of Tales of Berseria. Since I ironically found it to be one of the most predictable Tales of- games purely because of how edgy it is. Each time I saw a new character I'd guess their entire arc purely based on what would be the most “twisted” way to write it.

Since I'm currently in the Kirby: Air Riders waiting room, I decided it was a good time to start playing a short and sweet game in the meantime... -Like Persona 2: Innocent Sin (PSP)!

As someone who has been making strides to move away from modern consoles(+recently got a Steam Deck), due to me getting really annoyed by their ecosystems, I’m definitely curious in the upcoming Steam Machine. Especially if the specs are “good enough” for my needs in case my current PC ever melts.

Thoughts on the Kirby Air Riders Global Test Ride: Fun! Can’t wait for the final game! -Buuuuuut, can now very much tell why there will be many progression systems in the final game. Cause it’s easy to to go through City Trial run, not do much, & have a sorta anticlimactic race to finish it off.

Fun fact: The Nintendo Store App "Total time played" even includes Wii-U games! Anyway, you should now always trust my opinion knowing that I have 100hrs in Culdcept Saga Revolt for 3DS (which is secretly great. Just ignore that the story mode opponents cheat super hard.)

Moods are a funny thing for gaming. I booted up like 10 critically-acclaimed games from the past 2 years, and can tell I'll enjoy most of them, but then decided I wanted to play was a game from 20 years ago with a not great PC port instead. But I had fun with it.

Feeling like a degenerate because I’ve been getting so much free food from the McDonald’s Monopoly promo that I’ve, almost literally, been having only that for breakfast/lunch over the past week. Kirby Air Riders continues to prove that Sakurai has a sickness of wanting to make way Too Much Game ™ I honestly would’ve been content if the game was largely an excuse to play City Trial online. But absolutely absurd how much content as well as love and attention to detail it has for the series.

Tempted to use a Nintendo Voucher on Pokemon Z-A. But also... fighting my brain because Pokemon X/Y was easily my least favorite mainline Pokemon (the only Pokemon I straight up gave up on halfway through.) So I imagine all the callbacks it has for X/Y would be lost on me.

Finished chapter 2 of FFT:The Ivalice Chronicles. And, as silly as this sounds, I’m always afraid of revisiting a game I love and liking it noticeably less upon replay. Especially since it has been like 10+ years since I last played FFT. Thankfully, I still adore it. Wow, I have good taste.

Glanced at the Nintendo Direct stuff. And, cool for RPG stuff. Looking forward to FE: Fortune’s Weave as long as the combat is better than Three Houses? I have thought about replaying FE:TH many times...but stop because I didn't like the combat half as much as games like Engage/Fates.

I feel like I still don’t know what is the etiquette when responding to a fast food person asking: "how are you?" Because if you say something like "Good! How bout you?" they will immediately ask you your order regardless. And if you are curt & go straight to your order you are evil, actually.

Been kinda in a gaming rut when it comes to single player games after burning out halfway through Hundred Line (basically back to back routes I didn’t care for much. Even if I’m sure I stopped right before the best routes) Even something as well made as Donkey Kong hasn’t been sticking for me.

Very excited for Kirby Air Riders. I'm far from original when it comes to loving City Trial. But seriously... I played so much of it. And it's so cool seeing them add proper online multiplayer as well as QOL to it. And hey, if I love the racing game that's also included in it that's cool too.

I was hoping they’d sneak in something about Xillia 2 in that Tales of- remastered announcement. But... since it’s only the 1st game? I’m good. I keep trying to convince myself to give 2 a fair shot sometime (only played like 30 mins). But I guess it was not meant to be.
