I emptied one of my plushys, mended it, washed it, and completely refilled it! It had holes all over it and almost no stuffing left... It looked pretty sad when it was empty X') But all the happier with the stuffing! <3 (I also renamed it into Karmin, after my second partner who lives in the US)
