Happy Mollusk Monday! Our mollusk of the week is the Orange Peel Doris, obviously known for its vibrant orange color. These sea slugs are in fact considered as poisonous. The color is what wards potential predators away.

I was out for my morning walk today when I stumbled upon this snail, or at least its empty shell. An empty shell means a dead snail. When snails die, they dissolve very quickly while leaving its shell behind. However some predator might’ve eaten the poor snail, who knows.. Poor little snail.. 🥀

Anyways here’s Marigold! She wants to say hii. Just fed her a cucumber. Did you know that snails are omnivores? That means they can eat a whole variety of foods. They are also considered to be Detritivores. Meaning they eat remains of dead plants and animals…
