Accelerate Future HEI was featured at the 13th International Open Education & Science Practices Workshop in Timișoara, Romania, bringing together over 300 participants in a hybrid format.

Following a strategic visit to innovation hubs in Munich, including the Munich Urban Colab, Accelerate Future HEI partner Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) has taken a concrete step forward, launching the Técnico Venture Lab.

Yesterday marked the final day of our Accelerate Future HEI in-person meeting in Austria, focused on learning, inspiration and next steps.

Our partners are currently gathered in St. Pölten for a two-day Accelerate Future HEI in-person meeting, kicking off with a full day of collaboration and exchange.

As part of our Capacity Building and Knowledge Exchange activities, the nine participating HEIs are supported through dedicated events, workshops and tailored opportunities for peer learning.

We’re getting ready to meet in person! Our Accelerate Future HEI partner meeting will take place on 28–29 January 2026 in St. Polten. Our host HEI, USTP, is bringing the consortium together for two days of focused collaboration and exchange.

Our report on institutional transformation within Accelerate Future HEI offers an integrated view of how universities across Europe are advancing their entrepreneurial and innovative capacities.

Sustaining the outcomes of the Institutional Transformation Acceleration Projects (ITAPs) requires more than new processes; it relies on long-term investment in people and organisational culture.

Accelerate Future HEI’s focus shifts from piloting to consolidating progress, embedding institutional change, and amplifying impact across regional, national, and European levels.

The recent Interreg Europe event “Connecting regions, empowering universities through stronger R&I policies”, where policymakers, universities and European partners came together to discuss how stronger collaboration, digital infrastructures and institutional transformation can shape the future.

To support the diverse needs of HEI staff and leaders, the Accelerate Future HEI Training Program introduces six interconnected training domains.

Sustainability is at the heart of Accelerate Future HEI. To ensure that the impact of Institutional Transformation Acceleration Projects (ITAPs) continues beyond the project, partners are developing tailored investment strategies based on five core approaches (listed in the comments).

Accelerate Future HEI, aUPaEU, and CATALISI came together at the Interreg Europe event “Connecting regions, empowering universities through stronger R&I policies”, co-organised by the Interreg Policy Learning Platform and UIIN.

Every three months, our partners come together to exchange ideas and share progress from the nine testing HEIs taking part in the Institutional Transformation Acceleration Plans(ITAPs). 1/4

The Institutional Transformation Action Plan (ITAP) has acted as a catalyst for systemic change at the Universidad Europea de Canarias (UEC). It shifted the university from fragmented and isolated initiatives to a coordinated and cohesive entrepreneurial ecosystem. 1/4

Our training program was developed from the insights of the Status Quo Analysis (WP2) and Roadmap Analysis (WP3) completed in the first year. It is tailored to the real needs of our 9 HEI testing partners and supports their plans for institutional transformation. 1/2

This November, project co-ordinators, UIIN are hosting the Change Leadership Masterclass Series, led by Dr Susan Elrod, Professor Emerit and former Chancellor of Indiana University South Bend. 1/4
