A few years ago, when I started painting with clay slip on cardboard, I overcame my fear of a blank canvas. don’t have any background in painting, but I wanted to make images quickly and without too much thinking. Cardboard seemed the cheapest and most accessible canvas to use …

Think of the paragraph as a box. Consider the box to be a type of story-telling form. It may seem boring and predictable, efficient, and mundane, but inside each box is a rich complex world of survival, deep struggles, personal obstacles, and persistent doubts.

U.S., horror-catalyst, ungoverned land in which I live and sometimes thrive — paradox of dwelling inside this mallet striking and destroying— self-disgust at dwelling inside the unlawful arm reaching without pity or deliberation into other people’s schools and sanctuaries—

So long 2025. Make more art and write more poetry.
