The rest of peaches were processed but I was short half a pound so I threw in some frozen figs. The recipe was not proofread , made 12 x 8 oz jar not the six it suggested. This jam has little crystalized ginger chunks and whiskey in it

Update from my pickleball post from 21 days ago I definitely fucked up my butt/back doing Lord knows what (probably from pickleball) and I'm IN MY FEELINGS about it. I'm doing All The Things to help it feels better and I think the final remedy is Tincture of Time. đĩđ

2/2 It's giving me great cardio exercise and it doesn't hurt my arthritic knees. It's fun and social. Thank youuuuuuu pickleballll. (I'll try not to worry about my obsession ending as my roller skating lasted a couple years and salsa dancing I put in like 6 months).

I have been playing pickleball now for two solid months and I'm so proud of myself for giving it a shot and putting in the practice, my serves are more consistent and I'm hitting the ball/getting it over the net the majority of the time.

I don't like "scarlet"- not mixing very well with any colors. Unless the intention is muddy gray, which sometimes it is

Meant to follow up on bread: I did a 6 hour re-proof in the fridge then 2 hours on counter which produced abt 90% rise of what I'd hoped... baked as usual and turned out fine! Served with homemade hummus and red pepper dip last night- fantastic

I thought I was screwing up this 75% whole wheat levain bread recipe when all along I had merely neglected to read the sentence that says that it makes a smaller and denser loaf. I've been making it the way Ken Forkish intended all along. Redemption!

Also conservative estimate for home grown ethical eggs is about $6-7/dozen. Does not include cost of land. You've been buying cheap eggs for decades because of very poor standards for a hen's livelihood.

This loaf ended up pretty nice! Overnight country blond sourdough. Ends up being abt $1.15/loaf (organic flour from Costco)

In the last year I adopted a Kobo eReader and one cool function is the dictionary tool- can choose from several languages. Doesn't need to be on wifi either for this.

I like how Freddie (the black and white one in the background) is giving me this shitty death stare. Aubrey's tail and rump feathers are starting to grow back now after growing up in a stressful place.

Pretty fucking depressed that butterfly populations are down at least 20% in the US likely from pesticide use, habitat loss, and global warming. I've spent many sunny afternoons enjoying their beauty and grace. Painted Lady nectaring in the photo- taken in Cuba.

I was anticipating a nice lesbian romance with this cover and a name like Carrie. It's Cary (facepalm) and he was in the ~navy~. Maybe something in this book will be redeeming.
