Darius is a condescending jackass about religion- in that he doesn't respect ANY form of it. It's the most Garlean thing about him, and he's really bad at checking that knee-jerk reaction. It's bad enough that people who know him will occasionally pre-empt his reaction to stop it.

I always thought Dyunbu pyr Potitus was a cutie, but she and Darius would NEVER get along. She's a true believer in Gabranth's vision and idealistic to a fault, just incompatible with Darius on a fundamental level. Honestly I've just made my peace with Darius being un-wolshippable

Odette was tutored in all things expected of a noble lady of Ishgard, but especially latched on to the written word. Samga is illiterate, and she thinks writing is kinda stupid- if you need to communicate something, just say it yourself. Darius got a full Garlean education, and all that entails.

You ever gatekeep yourself from things? I do it all the time. "I'm not enthusiastic enough, I don't belong here."

Darius has a complicated relationship with his family's homelands. Despite being born in the Capital, he was made to feel like he was never Garlean enough for Garlemald- but everywhere else he went, that's all he was, the Garlean one. Then, when he finally got to Doma, he felt no connection at all.

I started playing during the 1.0 Beta. I have a distinct memory of getting to Camp Bearded Rock and realizing that there was nothing to do outside of Levequests.

I don't think Darius would go out of his way to talk about it. If someone asks, he's liable to just tell insanely obvious lies. The only character who'd say anything is Kamui and he's a huge liar virgin. "Yeah, I've got a girlfriend from Gyr Abania and we totally make out every time I go see her!"

I'm not sure what it says about me that every time a game introduces a character who's thing is "I wanna be closer to you, [player character]!" my immediate knee-jerk reaction is to get the hell away from them as fast as possible.

Darius's Father: Xander quo Itineras, a centurion in the 12th Legion and outspoken member of the Populares. After losing his men to primal tempering and having to execute the entire division, he retired from service. Then promptly crawled inside a bottle and never came back out.

Odette calls her dad 'Father' normally or 'Daddy' when she's being a snotty little brat Samga used "aav aa" and "eej ee" for her Father and Mother respectively, as one does on the steppe. Darius refers to both of his parents by their given names- Xander and Ayame.
